The
wind has been good to us! We also did a protest to safe
the reefs and the beaches on the islands... what we did
was snorkel the reef and put buoys next to every
endangered coral we saw and then we took an areal shot
of it. The next morning we had 15 min to leave the house
and get to the hanger to go to the BVI's to kite.
Unfortunately there was not much wind, but we still had
a blast. I saw a little baby shark and luckily I didn't
see it's mother. On the way back we flew over the BVI
music festival where Damian Marley was preforming.
Looked cool from the sky, but we couldn't land anywhere
near so we went back to the USVI to wake up to another
windy day! We kited an other spot this time. They call
it the laguna and it's close to the
marina.

We
got back from St Croix and ran some errands and chilled
for the day. The next day we packed up the helicopter
and flew to the BVI (British Virgin Islands). We landed
right on the kitespot got out and pumped our kites. The
wind was stronger then in St Croix and the 13m2 was
perfect. When we all were done with kiting we loaded up
the helicopter to fly back to St. Thomas. The next
couple of days I kited perfect on my 11m2 at the Ritz
Carlton beach. Which is a bay with onshore winds, but
when it comes in... it's such a nice spot. Kiting in
crystal clear water and seeing turtles popup every now
and then. Today the wind is up again! So we're going to
see where we are going now.

I
flew on a standby ticket from Amsterdam to Atlanta. At
the checkin I had to pay a bit for my boardbag, but it
was all good. When I got my seat at the gate it was 5F
and that means business class for 9 hours. It was my
first experience with this class and I can get used to
it . I had
to overnight in ATL and the next morning I went to
checkin and I knew that I had a slim chance to make the
flight as it was full. I rerouted through San Juan,
Puerto Rico. I got there and somebody was waiting for me
with a small plane that was going to St. Thomas.
About 45 min. later we landed on the airport. I went to
pickup my bags and got situated. The next day we just
chilled a bit in the morning and then went surfing for a
few hours. it was a nice session with head high
waves.

Then next morning we
had to be at the hanger no later then 7:45 AM as we were
going to St Croix for an over 40 soccer match where
Nicolas had to play in. It was a couple of islands
coming together for this tournament. We didn't go only
for the soccer of course. Madison and I took the car and
checked out the island. We came past a so many sick
potential kitespots. To bad we didn't have wind that
day. After a good night sleep we went to a secret spot.
There was a little bit of wind and we met up with Bill
Craft. The wind was light but we still went out. I was
on a 13m2 hadlow pro a bit underpowered, but the spot
was so sick that it was fun no matter what. It's going
one of the best spot i've kited. Now i'm back on St
Thomas and this whole week should be
windy!

The
course racing was giving the green light to start. After
the skippers meeting we pumped up and get ready for a
race to the finish. After the the start flag went up we
all raced to the first buoy. I was 5th when we came to
the first buoy. Then the guy who was 1st at that moment
turned around the first buoy and the everyone in front
of me followed. As I continued to go to the second buoy
the gab was getting bigger and bigger. As I rounded the
second buoy and crossed the finish line first. They
canceled that race, because the flag person messed up
the flags and people where complaining. So I thought ok
well... better luck next time! Then we went for another
round and we went out earlier to go up wind a bit to
have a good start position. As time went on and it was
getting cold. I and a couple of other people were tired
of waiting as we not really could see the flags. We went
to do the course and went we all rounded the first buoy
and went on to the second buoy, but we couldn't find it
so we headed back to the beach and we were told that
they had some problems with the buoys and the boat so
that we had to wait a little bit... I was so cold and
over waiting that I packed up and went to take a nice
hot shower. They did a best trick comp after the course
racing. There was hardly any wind left. As for the other
days it was sunny and warm till the end of the
event!

Skippers
meeting was at 7AM and we all had to be there. I guess
they're getting more serious as it might go olympic in a
few years. To save time they came up with a new rule:
the top 8 will advance to the second round. As I am in
the top 8 I got to go to the second round. When my heat
came up slow I pumped up my 7m2. When I went out to try
it I couldn't even hold an edge. So I borrowed a 5m2
Atom from one of the other Flexifoil team riders. As
this was the first time in my life on a 5m2 it was not
what I'm used to and I felt like a girl doing my heat.
The 5m2 is not my thing. I had to take it out one more
time as I advanced to the quarter finals. Getting a
little bit more feeling in the 5m2 was nice, but it was
not enough to advance to the semi finals. They heat
after me got canceled due to heavy rainfall and even
stronger gusts. As I came back in the hotel room I
looked up what the wind speed was and it was easily 8BFT
(35knt). I learned that taking out a 5m2 is not good for
your ego.
Wave event kicked off the next morning
after they finished the Freestyle. I was in the first
round and took out a surfboard with straps and a 9m2
Atom as the wind died down a bit compared to yesterday.
It was hard to get out to the back due to onshore wind
and a lot of white water from the 3,5m2 waves. I manage
to get through the first round as I came second in my
heat. I advanced to a very difficult heat with people
whom basically lived in waves. I got Mitu from Cape
Verde and Nono from the Dom. Rep. in my heat. I
struggled with getting out in the back and destroyed
some waves, but it was nothing compared what they were
showing. They advanced and I got to take a nice hot bath
as it is freezing cold. I mean if it is hailing you can
say it's cold right? Luckily I brought my 6/5/3 wetsuit
and all my winter stuff was still in the car as well. So
the DR boys were stoked that I was out of the running as
I gave them gloves booties and my mystic team jacket to
keep them a bit warm. Tomorrow they'll start the course
racing which I'm looking forward to.

After
a lot of km asphalt and killing about a million flies
with the windshield we made it to the beautiful St
Gilles Croix de Vie. We checked in the hotel and
upgraded the room right away. Paying €5 more is worth a
better smell and a pimp balcony! Organizing the room and
choosing the bed was a piece of cake. Checking the spot
was pretty fun as well as we look out of the window. it
was a bit chilly after being in the blistering sun
(behind a glass window). The waves looked nice and the
forecast as well. Tomorrow will be the registration and
a change to see all the riders again and say hi. The
wind for tomorrow looks good so maybe we'll have a
training session as well.

When
I got back from Venezuela I went to Egypt the day after
for some vacation. We had some good wind in Hurghada.
The sad thing was that due to the full moon the sandbank
was under water and only showed up the day we left. We
still had a blast, but 8 days was more then enough for
me.

After
we touched down in Porlamar airport we took the taxi to
go to El Yaque. We wanted to stay there for the night,
but the hotel was full so we took the boat already to
Isla Coche. We checked in at the hotel and got situated.
The first couple of days the clouds took over the blue
skies and with that the wind got a bit gusty. I got my
new kites and was stoked to use them!! At first I had to
get used to them a little bit, because I've been off
c-shapes for a while. I loved the kites with the first
touch though! After a couple of days I got to know them
and I now know for sure that I missed the C-shape even
more then I thought I did... The weather is getting
better... We got some productive footage hours and we
got the angles for the camera's down, So we can shoot it
pretty fast!! The only thing is we have to start
shooting early and we can only go on until the lunch
break, because of the sun. Overall I'm pretty happy with
what we got so far...

After
some more snorkeling, chilling on the beaches, kiting,
surfing, boating and flying the helicopter its already
time to go home. We had a great last session on "Sandy
Spit" a little tiny island of "Jost van Dyke" we got
some killer shots there with beautiful backdrops and
nice blue water. At the end of the session we loaded up
the Bertram and headed back to St Thomas, but Madison
and I didn't go on the boat yet. We followed them
downwind. After .... miles and .... hours father we saw
a nice beach to land on. Now it's time to pack up all
the stuff and go back to the cold! We paid $40 for
someone to check us in and take care of our bags. Within
10 min it was all arranged and we were sitting in the
terminal and we didn't have to pay excess luggage or
stand in line, so I think thats a $40 well
spend.

The
week started of great. After Madison flew us in the
helicopter (with duals) to the airport in Virgin Gorda.
I got to fly it to the drop off point and that already
made the day. The wind picked up a little bit and I went
out and was perfectly powered on my 12.5 ION3. The day
after we kited at Lindquist beach on St. Thomas. The
wind died a bit and then picked up again so I went out
and got worked. The day after we went to be tourists at
"The Baths" on Virgin Gorda in the BVI only this time we
didn't bring the duals. The surf came up a little bit
and we ripped Hull Bay on St Thomas and after we surfed
we fixed the Wakeboard boat and took that out in dead
flat and glassy Lindsberg bay. We drove down the next
day to go for another session, but then we heard that
there were little waves breaking at "little Hans
Lollick" (a little island just in front of St. Thomas,
so we took a boat and half an hour later we were surfing
these little chest high waves and we had a lot of fun
until the sun said it was enough and went
down.

I
came in at night and they lost one of my bags, but when
I went to declare it. They already knew where it was and
it came the next morning. Luckily my clothing bag made
it. The next day the wind was up a little bit and I took
out my 15m2 on a gorgeous beach called Lindquist , but
the wind just missed 2 knots. So we just chilled on the
pink sand and in the azure blue water. Then wind died
the next day, but there was surf coming in and I took my
new surfboard out for a ride and in the last wave my fin
cut right in between my toes so I needed to get my first
5 stitches. The rest of the week I did some errands and
chilled a bit on the beaches. We celebrated X-mas and
now we are in the British VI where we already had an
awesome surfing session and a sweet kiting
session.

After
a great week with wind and surf I'm back in the St.
Thomas. We did a sweet and long down winder, with nice
waves, dry reef and flat water. I also did a nice up
winder to the mangroves where it was super shallow but
super flat! jumping over them and not seeing the water
anymore because it is so clear. On the way down I saw
some awesome turtles and little fish. The last day I
went outside the reef and got slingshotted 10 meters off
my board, because I hit a ray, shark or other big fish
and the best thing was now laying in the water. I had to
get back to my board. Good thing the fish was more
scared then I was and it had vanished. After a little 2
hour boat ride we where back on St.
Thomas.

Update.
My heat in the waves went pretty well,
They shortened it to 8min heats and 2 min transition and
only the best 2 waves count. I had 1 good wave and then
I couldn't find a perfect roller any more. The other guy
was ripping I guess cause he passed. After my heat I
went straight down to the laguna and had an awesome
session on the new Atom08 9m2. That night there was
suppose to be a party so I went to check it out, but
after kiting all day and having to kite the next day. I
left at 11 oclock cause there was still nobody
there.
The following morning I could sleep in a
little bit as they're finishing the waves. In the
afternoon they started the course racing and it was
sick, cause there where 49 competitors. It was cool to
see everybody lined up and start. My start went pretty
well and after the first lap I was 5th and holding
position. Nobody passed me, but I gained up a lot on the
person in front of me. He came over the finish line 10
sec. before me and that made me 5th. I'm pretty stoked
with that knowing a lot of people where on surfboards
and I just used my old trusting Brunotti twintip. At
night there was the best party and I went to check it
out, but it took me again way to long for it to get
started and after the course racing my legs where so
stiff. So I went home around 1.30 to get a good night of
sleep.
After the competition the wind picked back
up and I had a few good/ fun days on the Lagoon. I
landed some new stuff and worked on even newer tricks. I
had a pretty good flight home for some cold fronts
hitting Holland. So perfect timing.

First
days.
Yesterday was a pretty long day of
traveling. I had to get up in Holland at 4 am and I went
to bed in Brazil at 11 pm with 5 hours time difference.
I slept pretty well though. I just woke up a little bit
early, because of the time difference. I think I was one
of the first ones up and that is rare. The rooms here at
Wind Town are super sweet! my room has ocean
view.
The kite day started with putting my board
together, changing my lines and centre line. Then I
waited a bit and went to town to get some water. When I
got back I pumped up my 7m2 and went out on the water. I
stayed in front of the hotel for a little while and then
went down wind to the laguna. On my way there the waves
where so nice. I shred those babies to pieces and ripped
them apart. When I started to trick in the laguna it was
for a short while, because my leash broke and had a good
swim. I borrowed an other leash and after a couple of
tricks that leash went open. So I called it a day and
had a coconut. But after all I had a pretty good day.
For dinner we went to this restaurant called 0031 and
the food there was delicious.
When I finished
breakfast today I got a super nice massage in the spa
that's at the hotel. Let me tell you... that massage is
the best I ever had! When the wind steadied out I went
downwind to the laguna on my 7m2, but half way the wind
died a bit and I was underpowered. I still had a bit of
fun trying some stuff when a gust came. We drove back in
one of those beach buggies and went a bit off road into
the dunes. It was so sick back there. Tonight is thai
night so I'm going to enjoy the food tonight a
lot!

Competition
kicked off!
Skippers meeting was at 9 o'clock so
that was pretty good. When my heat was up I had to go
against Tom Court and when the blue flag came up the
wind dropped and I was super underpowered on my 7m2...
he took a 9m2 so he had a more power to do his tricks.
He advanced and I have to wait for the doubles, but
first we're having the waves tomorrow morning. It's
going to be the first time for me competing in a wave
contest. I think it's going to be fun. although the
waves aren't really super good, but we'll see what it'll
bring us!
Today we started with the wave event
and I thought why not try it... so did 50 other guys
though. I went out into the kind of mushy waves with my
double 07 with the fins only on the tail. I had good fun
in my heat and I even made it to the 3rd round where we
stopped to go back to the freestyle. In the freestyle I
went out with my 10.5 ION2 and I was perfectly powered
until my heat started and I couldn't really stay upwind
so I had to run back over the beach. My component was a
little brazilian, one of the local boys that rip. He was
so light that he could stay upwind so he could do more
tricks then I could and he won the heat. So for the
freestyle this wasn't quit my event. The wind
disappointed me a lot here these last 2 days. But o well
Cest la vie and I'll focus on the rest of the
disciplines for the overall ranking.

After
waiting a lot and starting the speed crossing and slider
comp, just because there wasn't enough wind to start the
doubles. I'm happy to finnally get on the podium. it's
the lowest step, but it's a step up.
Next up is
Brazil so we'll se how that goes!

Today
was the first day of competition and it was nuking. I
was overpowered on my 7m2 and did some heats I went all
the way to the semi's and I lost against Sebastian
Garrat, so I had to go for 3rd and 4th place and I got
3rd place. I'm super stoked with that, cause it's my
first podium place! The wind for tomorrow and the days
after look horrible. 5 knots, but nice and sunny! so
we'll see what the rest of the week will bring
us.

After
a good night of sleep we woke up without any wind.
Nothing much was happening on the beach. So we went to
the left of the competition area to ride some of the
camels. It was good fun for a no wind day. There was no
wind for the next day either. So the skippers meeting
was at 12. We chilled a bit went in town again and
bought some chameleons at the fish market, but not to
keep them, but to give them their freedom back. They
where pretty cool for the time being.
The next
morning the was wind on the forecast so we had to get up
early. After the skippers meeting we got pretty much
started right away. I won my first heat against Dansin
(Fra) and moved on to the second round where I met up
with Vincent Tiger (Fra) and I moved on to the
quarterfinals. My next opponent was Joujou (Fra). I
pretty much had the french army after me. I had a pretty
good heat and I won. For the first time in my life I was
in the semi finals, so I was stoked already, but we had
to postpone the competition till the next morning,
because the sun was to low and was blocking the view of
the judges.
|
So
the next morning we were up very early to do the rest of
the single elimination. I had my heat against Sebastian
Garrat the current world champion and leader for the
time being. My heat went pretty good, but not good
enough and he advanced into the finals. I now had to
battle for the 3rd and the 4th place and my opponent was
Tom Herbert (NC). My heat didn't really go according to
plan and I lost and had to take enough with 4th place.
In the doubles Florian Daubos came all the way up and I
had to battle with him for 4th and 5th place. I won
against him so I kept my 4th position and had to go head
to head with Tom Herbert again for 3rd and 4th place. We
both didn't had a very good heat on our 7m2, but he did
a little bit better then I did and he advanced.

I didn't compete in the wave masters
the next day, cause I'm to young for that still, but I
took a nice day off and let my body rest a bit for the
speed crossing. I took the new Atom2 9m2 and that was a
pretty good choice. We did 2 races. In the first round I
got 6th and in the second round It was a photo finish
and I just got 3rd instead of 2nd. So with the points
added up I just went kicking against the podium
again!

I
set my alarm for 5:30am to leave the house by 6 to drive
down to Paris Orly, but my phone was still on Turkish
time so an hour earlier. We woke up at 4:30 instead of
5:30. We were up any way so we started driving. It went
pretty smooth almost the whole way. We only hit a little
bit of traffic, but once there we parked the car and
took the bus to terminal south. Something went wrong
with the credit card payment so we had to stand in line
at the ticketing desk to pay our flight and OMG that
woman was so slow it was unbelievable. When we finally
paid we could checkin our bags. There was no line so
that was nice. We didn't have to pay anything extra so
that was nice and we had a straight flight so that was
nice as well. When we touched down we sprinted to
immigration, cause I know on small airports there is not
a lot of people working there. We where third in line so
we got through pretty fast, but then we had to wait for
Clinton and Pepe. When they finally got through we took
a taxi to the hotel with the competition area right
there. First settling down in the hotel and then up to
registration. The wind was pretty strong and I heard it
was pretty gusty as well. The next morning skippers
meeting was at 9am, but the wind did not show up. We
went a little down the beach and saw these camels and
what is going to morocco without riding on a camel,
right? It was pretty cool. For today the forecast
doesn't look to good either, but we'll see what the wind
does...

Competition
is finished
The wind for the double elimination
was not as they predicted, but there was a good breeze.
I had to go on my 15m2. There was a lot of current and
not that strong wind, so it was hard to stay in the
competition area. My heat didn't go that well and I lost
it. In the freestyle I ended up 9th, I was super angry
on myself, but there was nothing I could change any
more... So ce la vie, right. So after diner there was a
great party there where not that many people, but the
ambiance was good and the music was ok.
Speed
crossing was on the menu for today. We did to runs, so
we would have 3 results. 1 from the first day and 2 from
today and you could discard one of them. In the first
one of the day I started as last, but I worked my way up
the field. I was in 3rd position and I could smell the
finish, but then my kite went in the water and I got
past by 1 person so I got 4th in that race. The second
race went pretty good I waited for everybody to go,
because it was pretty hectic at the start with everybody
tangling. In this one I ended 5th. So I was pretty
stoked. overall in the speed crossing I got 4th place
together with Sebastian Garrat. So we had to split the
€0,- of price money the 4th place gets. I'm ready to get
out of hear and prepare for Morocco

Yesterday
we had to wake up at 6:30 to go to the Bospheres river
and we got there it looked a little bit sketchy, but one
by one we went out. To do the freestyle there was
impossible so we did the hangtime Sebastian garrat won
with 7'24 seconds. I got 11th with 4'91 seconds. I never
been that overpowerd though. I was on my 12m2 and I
couldn't edge any more. After getting out of the dirty
river we went to a gym to do some refreshing. In the gym
we could play some B-ball do some snowboarding and
everything else that you expect from a gym. After doing
a couple of those thing we went to relax a bit in the
sauna and showers. While we where changing we saw
ourself kiting on the 7 o'clock news. We got all pimped
with a Jim Beam collard shirt for diner and a little
party. The diner was super nice and the party was ok,
but after that long day I just wanted to go to my bed,
but that only happened at 1.
Today we started the
freestyle at 11. The wind was super nice for 9m2 and the
sea looked like My homespot, except for the color.
Because I had a buy I only had to start in the 2nd
round. So that gave me enough time to get ready. I went
out for a free ride session before the competition
started and it was so nice! I was perfect on my 9m2.
When my heat started I went out and I guess I'm a little
bit like a diesel engine I start up slow, but once I'm
started I'm hard to stop. until I came against Mickael
Fernandez, cause he took me out. That means I'm 5th for
the moment in the single elimination. Tomorrow they are
going to start the doubles. The forecast looks the same
as today so that is good!

The
last couple of days been no wind. The good news is that
I got my boardbag in. Yesterday we drove to Istanbul and
the traffic here is insane. Were on the road for 15 min.
and we saw a flipped over car and a driver that wanted
to pass a truck but then saw us in a big bus... so he
braked pretty hard on flew into his own lane. Nearly
hitting the truck he flew off the road and came onto a
stop in the field. After arriving we went to see the
Blue Mosk. It was so peaceful and the architecture was
insane. We went to diner after and had a party on top of
a building. The view was insane. It was right next to a
hotel... and it was about bed time so we saw everybody
change for bed. It was pretty funny! It doesn't really
look like there is going to be wind today... but the
forecast for tomorrow looks good! when we go to kite in
the River that connects the Mediterranean and the black
sea.

Everything
went super well... I only had to pay €50,- for my
boardbag. The rest went all smooth, the flights were
nice. So everything was ok until I came to the baggage
belt. My clothing bag came in, but my boardbag didn't.
The people in the office said just wait in front of the
oversized luggage doors for 10 min. So I waited 10min.
Nothing. I went up there and said ok 10 min passed... ok
it's coming now. just wait there for a while. So I
waited and waited... Then Clinton came when his plane
landed after an hour. His boardbag didn't show up
either. So we made the lost baggage claim and they found
clintons bag, but they didn't know where my bag was. So
after calling and calling it might come tomorrow morning
at 9. so lets hope that I get my boardbag in time. There
was no wind for today, so that was my luck! We did the
drawing and some beach V-ball after that we took some
portrait pictures with Carlos. I got lucky because
there's only 25 guys, so I got a buy to the next round.
At the press meeting we had to go onto a couple of
tables and we counted 3.2.1. and then the tables broke
and we all fell. nobody got seriously injured. tomorrow

On
the 9th I flew from Brussels to Athens and met up with
Charlotte and Madison. That night we spend in a hotel
near the port to catch the High Speed 3 ferry to Paros.
We came into Paros after 3 hours on the ferry. When we
got off the boat Constantine was waiting for us already.
So we put the stuff on the car and drove down to the
dive center where we chilled a bit and then I went down
with 1 of the owners to pick up a car we could use for
our time being here. After checking the beach we
borrowed some gear to go snorkeling, but first we went
down to the port again to get one of those nice gyros
wraps. We met up with Gorge again and ask what a nice
place was to go snorkeling. He made a phone call and we
could go with the divers to this beautiful
place.
The next morning the wind was south and a
bit gusty, but at least we got to kite on 12m2. After
having an ok session we went out to dinner with Gorge
and Constantine. During the night the wind switched
directions and came from the North now. It still wasn't
quit strong, So we had to take out the twelves again.
When we got to the beach the next day it picked up so
much. We had to go out on our 7m2 Madison even took his
4.5m2. In the mornings it was lighter so we tried to get
there early and practice some tricks... While in the
afternoon we just went Massive.
On Mday we got
picked up from Paros and went over to Mykonos for the
last day. When we got out of the airport. We drove down
to the hotel. When we pulled up the hotel looked sweet.
When we got into the room it looked even sweeter.
Everything in there was white and looked very peaceful.
After a nice diner and a super sweet night of sleep we
went down to one of the many beaches. The wind was off
shore and to sketchy to kite. So we just had a chill
day. Madison and I went to search for cliffs to jump
from and I've never ever seen so few straight people.
When we found a little cliff I jumped to see how shallow
it was. When I came out of the water the girls showed up
and jumped. It wasn't to high so we were over it pretty
fast. We had a nice dinner in town with everyone. In the
morning we got dropped off at the airport and because we
were with 7 people checking in we didn't have to pay
anything although all together we had 30 kg overweight.
Later we started boarding and 30% of the luggage
couldn't come on the plain. After a McD stop in Athens
we flew on to Brussels.

I
was in the first heat of the day... I was perfect on my
15m2 until the heat started and the wind picked up. When
the heat was over I had a good feeling about it and I
won. So I moved on and was against Victor Borsuk again.
Who made it all the way up from the first round. When we
started my lines where tangled and people where helping
me, but the best thing was that Victor was waiting for
me to go on the water. So after the first tack I started
my tricks, but I was a bit stressed out from the lines
being tangled. It was a split decision and he past. The
top of the ladder looks like this:

This
Morning I registered to test a motor bike, but because
of the party I missed it. I asked if there was any space
open and I could go in 30 min. So I got there and we
where riding on these Buell Lightning 1200cc pimped out
bikes. We did a little half an hour tour and I'm hooked.
It was so nice the speed and the acceleration was just
insane! After I got back we did the hangtime contest and
now we're waiting for the price ceremony!

Today
they finished the the singles and the podium after the
singles looks like:

They also continued
with the doubles. At the end the wind dropped a lil bit
and got a little bit gusty. When my heat was up I had to
go against Antoine Auriol in the fourth round. When they
finished the fourth round they did one more ladies round
and then they called it a day. We had to wait for the
result so we first had a BBQ. After the BBQ we went down
to get an ice cream for desert and past in front of the
official notice board. I saw that I had won the heat and
I'm up against Mitu Monteiro. Because the had finished
the women's round, I'll be the first one to go on the
water tomorrow!

The
wind started to pick up again today, but not as strong
as yesterday and like yesterday it was full of holes. I
took out my 15m2 and had a better heat then I had the
first day. It was enough to pass to the quarter finals.
Where I met Tom Hebert from new caledonia. When they
started the quarter finals the wind died and they
canceled the heat. So we where all just chilling a bit.
Until the wind picked up a little bit again. It was
sometimes enough and sometimes it wasn't but they still
ran the heats. When my heat was up the wind was good but
when the heat started it was so light. Finally I lost
the heat and Tom moved on to the semi final! They did 2
more heats after that and then they called it a day!
Tonight is the MotoX show. That's gonna be sick! I will
take some pictures and I'll put it in my pic gallery
somewhere tomorrow!

The
first days where no wind and sun. It isn't as cold as I
thought and a shorty would be enough, but I only brought
5/3 and 6/5/3 wetsuits. Yesterday we drove up the
mountain with 2 cars, but right in the beginning our
driver stalled out and we got split up. We ended up
going onto an other mountain then them, but after some
sketchy and small streets we made it to the top. The
view was gorgeous. When we got back at the hotel we had
diner and then the guys from the other car came in and
they had a blast aswell, but this morning the had
diarrhea after having some cheese on the top of the
mountain. Today there is still no wind but we stay
faithful and are hoping on some wind that will come
up!

The
wind came up today and went from sucky to alright and
then back to sucky! Some riders took out there 14 and
would be lit and underpowered in the same heat! I had so
much luck in my heat I got to go out on a 9m2 and was
stoked, but it was the first time again in a wetsuit and
that wasn't a great success, I had my heat against
Victor from Poland! The guy is ripping. My heat didn't
go as I wanted it to go, but I guess I had some luck,
cause I passed the heat. right after my heat the wind
died and we called it a day! Tonight is the last night
that Clinton and I sleep in a shitty bed, cause we're
moving back to the hotel that we where in the first
night!

The
last couple of days the DR treaded me pretty well with
the wind. Even the last day, but I didn't go out cause I
didn't wanted to get my stuff wet. After getting picked
up by my bro from the airport... I stayed home for 1
day. Did some stuff I to do and went on.
This
morning my dad dropped me off at the airport again and I
went through checkin and only had to pay €30 so I was
stoked. I met up with Clinton on the airport and we took
the bus and train to Colico. It went all pretty smooth
today no big hassles. We're here in a hotel 5 min. walk
to the event area. When we where walking back from the
event to the hotel we checked out a pizzaria till what
time it stayed open and stuff and I looked at the event
poster and it has me on it with a picture from last
year... So I was super stoked.

I
just got back from the PURA VIDA event in Las Terrenas.
It was by far one of the best events I've been too. We
went to a super sick 50 meter high waterfall and also
went behind it and climbed it a bit and then jumped
through the waterfall into the water. In the afternoon
we went kiting in this virgin gorgeous place and had a
lot of camera's pointed a sick slider and a Helicopter.
The next morning started of easy with a nice breakfast.
Then it got more interesting when the quads came out. We
toured for the whole morning and got to see some
beautiful places and just had super much
fun.

In
the afternoon the wind picked up again and we went out
kiting. I didn't came of the water once... until we went
downwind to the hotel. On the way there I crashed my
kite and got dragged over the reef, but for the time
being on it I don't have any thing... a couple of cuts
on my hands and thats it. My kite doesn't have a
scratch. Now I'm gonna walk across the street to the
beach to see what kite I have to pump up to go
kiting.

got invited by Joseph Carneiro to go to Las Terrenas for
a fun tour... We're gonna have photoshoots and film...
there is gonna be a helicopter every day to make some
sick shots! So I'm starting to pray for wind and we'll
see what it brings...

So
far I kited twice... once on my 15m2 and once on my 9m2.
Had some good sessions although it was super choppy...
We also had some partying going on across where I live
in this place called Onno's and that was pretty fun.
Yesterday I bounched my head and got some blood going
on. Nothing big but enough to keep me of the water for a
day, but that day sucked any way, cause there where
squalls coming in and taking the wind away... Today the
wind is obviously gonna pick up like it always does and
i'm going for a good training session

Arriving
in the DR.
I got dropped off at the airport by my
bro and went to check in. I could take 2 bags of 23 kg.
My boardbag was 31kg and my other bag was 17kg. So the
lady behind the desk was like sorry it's to heavy. so
you have to pay €50,-. I said ok but first i'll try and
fit something in my other bag so I don't have to pay.
When I was trying that. I was like its not going to fit,
so I got back to the desk and was like... sorry I'll pay
the €50,- so I can take 32kg, but then she said yes but
it's sports equipment (that is free under 23kg) so you
have to pay by kg overweight. 1 question... how does
that work? if it's your normal bag you pay €50,- to take
the same amount of weight, but if it's sports equipment
you pay for every kg overweight. So I had to pay €240,-.
I was like let me try to fit stuff in the other bag
again... So I made it fit and I could take everything
for free... When we touched down in Peurto Plata I got
onto the bus to go Cabarete and here I am waiting for
wind...

I
just got back from Thailand and I can tell you... That
place is sick. The people are super nice, but sometimes
you need some patients to get what you really want. The
photoshoot with the new Brunotti 2008 Summer clothing
was sick. The group we went with was super fun. I
couldn't stop laughing! We worked hard and we made long
day's, but we've got some good results, so everybody was
stoked.
This weekend is the KBO in Noordwijk and
that is going to be sick!

Tomorrow
it's time to go to beautiful Thailand. It's gonna be a
busy week with all the work there needs to be done, but
it's also gonna be tonz of fun and I get to see the 2008
summer clothing already, super stoked! I hope I can keep

get back.

The
last couple of days where super nice especially the very
last day... it was 48 knots. so I was lit on my 7m2, but
it was cool. The only thing you could do was go super
High and it was fun! When we got dropped at the airport
we thought we where super late, cause our plane left in
45 min. but when we got there the checkin wasn't even
open yet. we had a short flight from Figari to Nice. We
had to wait 8 hours in nice for our next plane. So we
tried to reschedule to get an earlier flight, but
everything was full already. When we finally sat down
and chilled for a sec we saw that there where only 4
hours left. We went an hour on internet for €10,- and
downloaded the last episode of prison break season 2. We
watched it and when it finished we could check in. We
waited some more after we gone through security and then
finally we went on the plain. Only after 2.30 hours we
touched down in Amsterdam and got picked up by my
dad.

Monday
was also a beautiful day. The only thing different with
sunday was that there was no wind at all. So we just hit
the little beach down the road and chilled there until
the clouds moved in and it became cold.
When I
woke up and looked out of the window the tries where
moving. So after breakfast we took the car down to the
beach and pumped up our 9m2. The wind was a lil up and
down and going down. so we came back in to get our 12m2
and stayed out for another while and even the sun came
through. When the wind dropped till the point where we
almost couldn't stay upwind any more we went in to get
dressed and get groceries for diner.

Friday
No wind, but lots of work to do around the house..and
the kids are leaving. That makes such a difference. No
screaming just rest... well rest almost...cause the
house is almost done. it's beautiful weather and we're
walking around in boardshorts and T-shirts. After
scrubbing and cleaning I took a nice long shower and
helped charlotte prepare dinner. Dinner was delicious
and after dinner we played some poker again and I won
! It took
not long before we hit the sheets after
Today is
Saturday and it's another gorgeous day. We spend some
time exploring the place and ended up on a golf course
and discovered some sick cliffs for jumping into the
water. When we got back we went in town to get some
groceries for the weekend, had lunch and went back to
the beach again. When we came back from the beach the
sun was behind the clouds and it started to get a lil
bit cold. After a nice warm shower. For dinner we had a
nice home made cheeseburger and salad. We watched a
episode from 24 and went to sleep.
Easter Sunday.
At first it looked if there would be no wind today and
it would be another gorgeous day with temperatures of
20C. Then some clouds where starting to come in and it
started to thunder a lil bit farther, but we just drove
to the other spot and there is was sunny, but the wind
was super light, it was a go or not go situation. We
thought well we're here now any way might as well pump
up. So we pumped up a 16m2 and it kinda pulled but it
wasn't really convincing, but Charlotte got my harness
and board so I had to try it... I did my best not to get
wet, cause I wasn't wearing a wetsuit. First couple of
tacks I had to walk back upwind, but with every tack the
wind increased. I started doing little tricks and of
course crashed and got wet, but it wasn't as cold as I
thought it to be. Derek went to put on his wetsuit and I
gave him his kite back. I started to pump up my kite and
went out too, this time with a wetsuit. I had super much
fun until the wind died. So we packed up and went home.
Charlotte was taking pictureswith Derek's camera, but he
forgot the cable to the computer. We had a nice dinner.
When we where done we watched TV a bit, but it was all
in french. So after a while we went to our room to watch
an episode of 24 and went to sleep.

Tuesday
it rained all day... so we just chilled in the crib and
did some games... when it finally stopped raining the
wind picked up a lil and we loaded up the defender to go
down to the kitespot. When we got there we got out to
check the wind but it was a lil offshore and we could
probably get out, but we could never get back no more
and when that happens you arrive in Sardinia. So we
drove back home and watched a couple episodes of 24 had
dinner and finished the 24 episode.
No wind today
and it didn't rain either so it was a better day then
yesterday. We got some fresh air and went to the beach
and went on a kinda own made discovery tour past rocks
and stuff. We saw some nice cliff diving places, but the
weather wasn't really up for it to try them already. So
we went back without getting wet. People are still
working on the house and they ran out of bleach so we
drove down town to get a couple of bottles and came
back. Like yesterday we did some games and enjoyed the
view and like every evening there was a nice fire in the
fireplace. After watching an episode of 24 we fell
asleep.

During
the night the wind picked up like crazy. So when we
finished breakfast we went down to the beach and checked
it out. It looked windy for my 7m2 so I pumped it up did
1 trick and came back in to take my 9m2. I was perfect
on my 9m2, the sun was out so it wasn't even chilly and
had a blast. After 2 and a half hour I was dead and went
back in to get changed. When we got back we went down
town to do some grocery shopping. I also helped around
the house a bit and dumped the lil kids in the not
cleaned pool, cause the where too
enjoying.

Friday
was a whole day of being busy... We left Brussels to go
home cause our plane left from Amsterdam and when we got
home we had to leave in half an hour again to go to SONY
to pick up a cam before they closed. Of course it was
full rush hour so we hit some traffic. After we picked
up the cam we had to get my board like an hour away but
traffic was still on. When we finally got home from that
all. We had a lovely diner at my moms place. When we got
home from that we only had like an other half an hour to
get ready to go party. It was fun but we left early
cause we wanted to get a lil bit of sleep.
Alarms
were going off 2 hours later at 5:00 am cause we had to
be at the airport at 6. At the check-in of course we got
shizz for our boardbags and we had to pay for them... we
got a pretty good deal eventually. First we had to pay
€380... So that was more then what we paid for our
tickets combined. After a lil bit slick talking. We got
it down to €140,-. Stoked and we went on with the
travel. After taking off we where in the air for 40 min
and we went down already... Right when you getting
comfy. So we touched down in Paris. Super cool to be
there and stoked to go on with the trip. After Paris
there was Marseille and then we finally got down in
Figari. We got all of our bags in so we where stoked.
After we got picked up we had about a half an hour drive
to the house in Bonifacio, but first we had to stop at
the supermarket to pick up the groceries. When we got to
the house my mouth fell open. It's one of them houses
you see on MTV cribs... Because he just bought this
house we had to do some work like moving the furniture
in and exploring a bit. The view from about every room
is right on the kite spot and it's unbelievably
gorgeous! After we moved our bed in the room and had
dinner we went to sleep.

April
Fools morning we woke up pretty early. I don't know why
cause we where both really tired. After having breakfast
and some chilling the wind was blowing sweet. The wind
made it a lil bit chilly, but it was doable. We drove
down to the beach to go kiting. I went out with my 9m2
and it was a perfect size. The only thing was I was so
tired from the days before that I didn't really had NRG
to do any thing big and I also had to get a lil used to
my new board, but all by all I had an ok session. After
we had a nice dinner we took out the poker game too
gamble a bit. For me was the first time playing and I
was winning till 1 o'clock and then I still lost... But
it was a cool game and a sweet experience.
We
woke up around 10ish. Had breakfast and chilled a bit
the whole morning. We had to go down town to get some
stuff from the supermarket. We took the motorbike and
enjoyed the pretty ride down to Bonifacio. Got what we
came for and went back up to the house... Where the
lunch was served. At around 3 we got down to the beach
to get some kiting down. I had a super nice session on
my 7m2 and killed it when my leash hit my face in a
trick and it started to bleed a bit. I was done any way
after a killing session for 2 hours. So I went in and
got ready to go back to the house to take a nice warm
shower. After another delicious meal we hit the
sheets...

7/2/2007, All over the place
|
The
wind finally picked up and we drove down east to go to
the Ritz. It wasn't as strong as we thought it was, but
I took my 12m2 and was powered enough to stay upwind but
not powered enough to do a trick. I went in for my 15m2
and when I went out on that I was lit so I went to
switch to my 12m2 again. I was perfect until the wind
decided to quit on us. While we were packing a ton of
guests from the hotel came to ask all kinds of
questions. After we answered about all of them we went
back home.
The next morning the wind picked up
lot and we went with the Bertram to an other small
Island called "Sandy spit". After we cleared customs we
closed the valves on our kites and peddled them in on a
long board. I pumped my 9m2 and was perfect for a while
until the current changed. Only Madi could still go on
the long board and his 10m2. So we just chilled there
eat some food we brought and packed up he boat to go
back. Madi kited to the next island and thats where we
picked him up.
On Super Bowl Sunday the wind was
perfect in the lagoon. So we went there for our last
session. It was a lil sketchy launch, but once your out
it was perfect for my 9m2. I had a good time, but with
tricks I didn't really have my day. The only thing I
could do where kiteloop handle passes. Jacky and Jon
where catching dinner while we were kiting. Once we were
all done kiting we packed up and went back home. For
diner there where the yummy fresh lobsters Jacky and Jon
caught. During dinner the Super Bowl started and we
watched it. When we were done we all fell fast
asleep.

The
next morning was packing and saying good bye. The flight
leaving from St Thomas was 2 hours late and we would
miss our connection in New York. So we changed it at the
checkin to St Thomas -> New York -> London ->
Brussels. So we got our tickets and on two of my tickets
where SSSS. So in St Thomas I got an secondary security
check. So they fully checked me out. I gave my bag to 1
of the other guys, so they didn't had to go through that
and safe some time. All was good and I could walk on. So
we got into the flight and landed in New York a couple
of hours later. We came out of the gate and we checked
what was up... Guess what... the plane we thought we
would never make was still there, so we checked if we
could go in there instead, but we had to follow our
luggage. So instead of going straight to Brussels we
took a D tour through London. We went to Starbucks to
get something to drink and went on to our next gate.
Half way down to the gate we heard our names for the
final call. So we started sprinting. We had to go
through security again and I had an other ticket with
SSSS on it. So I got an other secondary check. But this
time I had my bag on me. So the other guys where already
through and went to stop the plane. The check only took
a couple of minutes, but seems for ever. Once I cleared
I sprinted with my every thing in my hands to the gate.
I made it so I got on the plane and it was so funny all
the people where looking very unhappy at me. I could
care less so I got to my seat. The whole flight was
perfect, cause we had a pretty new plane with a screen
in the seat infront of you. we even had a phone to make
way to expansive calls. So we touched down in London and
went to the next gate... When they started boarding it
was our turn and they said the tickets where not valid.
So we sprinted down to the ticket counter and got send
up to the gate and all was good. We got to our final
destination Brussels. With all that running and
sprinting we did I didn't think out bags would make it,
but I was wrong. We got all our bags and went outside
where my girl was waiting for me.

Last
couple of days the surf was definitely up. We surfed
every day. I'v been worked and pounded by the biggest
waves I have seen in real life... With my not so long
surfing experience the 14ft faces where a lil bit to big
for me. I was trying to catch some, but I just got
worked and worked by those monsters. But I kept trying.
The good thing is I won't be that scared of big waves
any more and my duck diving skills got a lot better,
although failed a couple of times what causes me to get
dragged in all the way and I had a nice 30 min peddle to
get back out! I'm lovin it. But that was only 2 days
that it was that big. The rest I just rode those babies
like sugar. To morrow the wind is suppose to pick up so
hoping to get some nice kiting time before I
leave!!

Thomas, US Virgin Islands |
No
wind and no waves doesn't mean life can't be fun. We
chilled a lil bit in the morning and then went down to
check to be sure that there was no waves. When we saw
that there where no waves we went back up to get snorkel
gear and drove down to where the point of hull bay and
Magens bay combine. There was a steep rock perfect for
rock diving. So we jumped and then the guys went to
snorkel all the way down to the beach. In the mean while
I was taking madi home, cause he needed to study. So I
chilled a lil bit at home and then went down to Hull Bay
to pick them up. We went to get lunch at Magens bay and
chilled there a lil bit. When we where over there for
the moment we went back home. Madi was just coming out
of the gate that someone just backed in to and totaled
it. To say that we had to go down to the hanger. So when
we got down to the hanger we took the helicopter and
went airborn. We stopped between great and lil "Hans
Lollick" and Madi and I jumped out into the water and
swam to the beach. The other guys got a tour around the
island. When they came back they picked us up... and we
jumped again only now in front of great "Hans Lollick".
When we got down to the hanger we went to a bar and had
a couple of drinks. For diner we scored "Texas BBQ
pit".

The
next day we went down to the Bertram to go to the north
side, Cause Eric made some kind of swing into the water.
It was insane. The way up the was pretty sketchy and
getting the rope was sketchy, but then the swing was
awesome!! But how more we got up there the wetter it got
so the more sketchy it was. When everyone went about 3
times we busted to an other island and there was another
sick cliff. So we did some sick action of that and just
took it easy all day. When we got back to the dock we
went down to Burrito Bay deli for a delightful filling
lunch. When we where all done we checked out across the
street and went into the new Caribbean Surf Co. and
watched a lil bit of a surf movie. For diner we had
Turkey.

In
the morning I helped cleaning in and around the house a
lil bit and pressure washed the deck for about 2 hours,
but it looks nice and clean now! After that David called
and we where gonna go surf, but we didn't know where the
waves would be breaking. So we drove down to Hull bay
and took his boat to a couple of spots and didn't see
much... so we got back into the car and drove to another
spot. It where nice waves so we peddled out. Together
with an other guy we where the only ones. Just after the
break pelicans where diving for fish. There was a giant
set breaking all the way in the back so we duck dove
under it and when we came up there where thousands of
lil fish jumping everywhere and hitting us. We got out
of the water when it got dark and drove home. At around
10ish 5 guys from Belgium joint the crew.
We had
to wake up at 6.30 because we where going to surf on a
different island. So we took the boat and went to the
BVI and cleared customs. We checked a couple of spots
and finally we got to a sick spot... The waves where
super big some of them where triple overhead. I got
pounded and my duck diving skills go a lot better... I
took a couple of waves but just got worked by them... So
I went in to the boat for lunch. After a nice break we
all went back out again and now there where a couple of
waves a bit smaller. I ripped 1 to pieces and that one
was head and a half. The feeling was so nice I just
wanted more. But we had to go, because it was turning
dark and we still had a nice boat ride to go back home.
I took 1 last wave and when I stood up the wave broke on
my back and smashed me of my board. I peddled back to
the boat and we got on our way.

We
where all so tired from yesterday that we just took it
easy in the morning. We got down to Hull bay for a nice
session... The waves looked more my size. So I was
stoked to go in. The only thing was you had to peddle 15
min. to get to the break. Once we got there we ripped a
lil and then I went to check the point. cause the waves
are a lil bit smaller there but more powerful. When I
got there the wind was a lil bit blowing so it was a bit
choppy. So after a while we peddled back and went in for
lunch. The way back looked even longer then the way out.
We went with the car to "Havensight" for lunch. We drove
back home after lunch and then went down again to go
surf... It got a lil more crowded so 3 of us peddled all
the way out to the point. The wind dropped and sets of
head high waves rolled in. There was a nice line in them
so you could be on the wave for about 20 sec. and then
had to peddle back... We got out of the water at dark
and drove back up to go home.

This
morning was just chilling. in the afternoon we brought
Charlotte to the airport, but before we reached the
airport we stopped to get a beef pate. Then we dropped
her of and waited till she was through customs. We drove
back home after that and I chilled home the rest of the
day, cause there was no wind what so ever. We ended up
playing NHL ice hockey on the playstation.
The
wind picked up a lil bit and it looked good from the
house. When we went down to "Vessup" I was doubting if I
wanted to take my 9m2 or my 12m2. I ended up taking my
12m2. We tacked out of the bay to go to Linquest (that's
the next bay after Sapphire). Once I got down there I
saw them working the kite and I was like shall I go in
or not. Then they had some nice power and I went in. It
was just enough wind to stay upwind in the bay with
sometimes a gust to go a lil upwind. There where some
nice kickers rolling in. So we did a couple of flats.
Suddenly the wind died and we where stuck. So we had to
go to the beach and Madi tried to go out on my kite and
board... He made it to the point and then the wind died
completely and that made the kite fall. When he drifted
back in David went to the main road and hitched a ride
back to get his car. Because the beach is closed we had
to clime over a fens and we drove back to where we
parked the car. We had some coconuts and sliced them
open to drink the juice inside. After we cleaned up the
mess we went to get lunch at "Senor Pizza's". It was
super good and satisfying. We drove back home after we
finished the pizza.

It
looked nice and windy so we drove down to the Ritz. When
we came down there it didn't look to windy, but I
thought I'm here any way... might as well try. I pumped
up my 15m2 and tried to go out. I think in total I did
1,5 tack that day. We ended up just chilling at the
beach.
This morning we went shopping in
"Caribbean Surf Co" and did some retail therapy. The
wind picked up and we went to a place called "Sapphire"
to have a good session on my 12m2. We went all the way
out of the bay and went Island hopping. it was super fun
that day. When we came back in we gave the tourist a
nice show. A couple of tourist came up to us at the and
of the session to ask some questions... that was pretty
funny. We went out to diner. It took a bit long before
we got our order, but the taste of the sushi was worth
it.

The
wind picked up even more this morning. We went to the
airport to change my ticket. I'm staying till the 5th of
feb instead of until the 25th. Then had a breakfast in
"Havensight" (that's the place where all the cruise
ships come in). We picked up Madi after breakfast to go
kiting. the wind was a lil more north today so we went
to the bay next to "Sapphire" called "Vessup" There
where a lot of boats parked there, but it was ok to go
out. I took out my 9m2, but for some reason it didn't
work with my tricks 2day. So after an hour and a half I
went back in and chilled. We had a nice slice of pizza
and went back to the beach to watch Nicolas kite. When
he was finished with his session we went home and had
diner.
This morning we packed Charlotte's
boardbag, cause she leaves tomorrow. The rest of the day
we just chilled at Magens bay. There where lil waves
coming in what is rear. We had a lot of fun playing in
them. On the way back we wanted a milkshake, but the
milkshake place was bombed with people, So we left with
empty hands, but full stomachs, because for lunch we had
a nice cheese pizza at magens bay.

We
got up early to spend the weekend in St. Croix (that's
one of the other Virgin Islands). We got down at the
dock to go on the ferry, but the water was to rough so
they canceled the ferries. So we drove down to the
hanger and took the helicopter with all the stuff. It
was a tight squeeze and we had to leave our 15m2's
behind, but it was only a 30 min. flight and we landed
right into the front yard of where we had to be and
drove down to town to rent a car. We drove down to the
kitespot, but hit the "Cheeseburger in Paradise". After
a sweet tasting cheeseburger we drove down to the
kitespot and pumped up. I went out on my 12m2. to end
the session we made a downwinder. We drove back to where
the heli was parked and picked up the people how lived
there to go to a restaurant to have diner.
The
next morning we got up early to go kiting again. this
time we drove upwind from the kitespot and made a
downwinder to the kitespot with some super nice waves to
ride in between. I saw a turtle on the way down and I
thought that was sick. Down at the kitespot I stayed out
for a while but then came back in and chilled for a
while. After a nice burrito lunch I went back out to do
the downwinder we did the other day. When we where done
we packed up our stuff and drove back to the helicopter
and took off to go home. Once we landed on the airport
we unloaded the heli and went home to have diner and
watch Prison Break.
Today we loaded up the
Bertram to go kiting in "Hans Lollick". We had to anchor
the boat and swim to the beach. So don't forget to close
your valves. It was a bit gusty but super much fun. The
way back was a lil rough and everything got wet, but it
was all good. Back at the dock we unloaded the boat and
headed home.

There
was no wind so we emptied out the rest of the Bertram
and took the boston wailer around to Hull Bay again. We
took our surfboards so we could go surf when we got
around. We anchored the boat right outside of the surf
and jumped in. Because everybody was working or in
school we where the only once out. I had the session of
my life! When we where done surfing we took the boat out
of the water and drove home for some refueling with some
food.
Next morning we where planning to go scuba
diving, but we couldn't rent equipment any more. So we
put the wakeboard boat in the water and had a nice
session of wakeboarding and wakesurfing. We had a good
time, but it got dark so we got the boat back out of the
water and went home. After diner we went down town to go
partying in a place called "The Greenhouse". A lil
before it closed we went to "the shipwreck" and chilled
a lil with some food. After a while there we went
home.
We started the day with a nice sleeping
session. When we finally woke up we took it easy for a
while and got ready to get all the diving equipment.
When we had all the stuff we went out to the Bertram to
clean it a lil bit from the trip to the secret spot. We
just finished cleaning and then the rest came to go to
the diving spot. It was my first time scuba diving so
after a quick lesson I got geared up and took a dive
into the water. It was so pretty down there all kinds of
pretty fish and coral it's crazy. We even saw a giant
crab and 2 sharks. Good thing they where sleeping. After
we used up our air we went back to shore and went
home.
The next morning the wind picked up a lil
bit. So we went down to the Ritz and I pumped up my
15m2, but unfortunately the wind wasn't strong enough.
So we just chilled out at the beach for a while and then
went to burrito bay deli to get lunch. We went back to
the beach and eat it and to check if the wind didn't
pick up in the mean while. No wind so we went to Magens
bay. On the way back we stopped to get a milkshake. We
had a super nice diner at Abuelo and
Abuela.

When
we landed on the airport we had to wait a couple of
minutes, because there was nobody there yet. Finally
someone came took our passports and he was gonna drop em
of at the bungalows. We took of at from the airport and
landed at the bungalows. When we emptied the helicopter
we had to divide all the stuff over all the bungalows.
When we finished after an hour orso the bertram came in.
So we loaded of all the stuff that was on the bertram.
At noon there was an other car coming with more food in
there so we had to divide that as well. When we finally
finished we loaded up the dingy with kitestuff and went
down to the kitespot. it was blowing super nice for my
new 9m2. We had soup for diner and some cookies for
dessert. We watched an episode of Prison Break and when
that was finished we had to watch another episode, but
when that one was finished we went to
sleep.....

Today
we had to run more errands and load up the Bertram to
island change. I also had a nice session on my new
"Fusion2" 12m2. It was a lil sketchy to go out but once
I was out is was super nice... I got back in on this
tiny lil beach I started out of and helped to pack the
boat farther. We had Christmas diner tonight with the
family here.
So tomorrow I get up so early to go
to a different island. Me and Charlotte go by helicopter
with her mami. Madi and Nicolas go with the Bertram. I
still can not say what the place is called, cause then
they're gonna chop of my head and I kinda need that. So
merry merry Christmas and a wonderful 2007

This
morning I woke up around 7:30 and noticed I got worked
by mosquitos. I have like 20 bites and that is only on
my right foot. After breakfast we had to get a boat to
the other side of the island. It took us an hour in the
rough sea and the wind. When almost where there we first
stopped at the Ritz to get some kite satisfaction. I was
lid on my 15m2 and had a super good time in theme awful
blue waters. After the wind died we took the boat out to
check how the surf, but that wasn't really up. So we
took the boat to where we had to take it. and got picked
up to go and get the car.
The next day we did
some stuff we had to do. like put a foot pad on the
surfboard of Nicolas. Checking if an other kite was
leaking and fix Madi's board. I met the biggest spider
I've ever seen. at 2.30 pm my girl landed and I was
stoked to go pick her up. She got all her baggage in, so
that was sweet. We didn't do much that night. We where
super tired.

This
morning we got a list of stuff to do and get, because
saturday morning we're going to another Island and we
have to prepare for that. So we've been driving around
the island a lil bit. It was insane. There where 6
massive cruise ships in. So it was pretty busy on the
road. When we where done with running errands we went
down to Magens Bay for a lil swim and lunch, but the
line to get food was so long. That we turned around and
went back home after swimming. We stopped on our way
home to get the nicest milkshake ever. When we got back
home we had to go drop stuff off at the east end and
after that we helped a couple of friends getting ready
to open there new store: "Caribbean Surf Company" and
that's there 3rd store on the island and this one looks
super sick. We had a sweet sushi diner.

There
was miracle at main street, but we ended up not going,
cause we where all so tired. The next morning I got my
christmas present: a surfboard!! I was so stoked and
there was a nice swell coming in to Hull Bay so I got to
use it right away! I got pounded in so many waves, but
hey I got the duck diving part under control now. When
we got home I was so dead cause we peddled a good
amount. We had a lovely spaghetti with red sauce for
diner. I went to bed early.
We had to get up at
6:25 the next morning to go down to Hull Bay, to take a
boat out and go surfing in Culebra (thats an Island like
30 min. away). We got there and the waves weren't that
great but we still went out I caught 2 nice waves. When
we where over that place we went the next bay to check
out the waves there. They were a lot bigger and nicer,
but it was a beach break and got pounded so many times
again... On the way back to Hull Bay we got out there to
catch some last waves of the day. I got a few so that
was super nice. When we got back home there was a friend
coming over to make sushi. It was so
good!!

This
morning I had to arrange somethings with my kites, but
it all worked out thanks 2 my dad. After stressing over
it we went down to the hanger to get Charlotte's car and
drove down to the east end to go kiting at the Ritz
Carlton beach. it wasn't great but we did a couple of
tacks with my 15m2. When the wind died we chilled a lil
while in the swimming pool and got lunch at Burritobay
Deli. On the way home we took a wrong exit and had to go
through the getto to get back on the right road. once we
got home we had to fix somebody's kite, because there
was a hole in the leading edge.

When
I left to go to Brussels i forgot my ticket at home, but
I only found that out at 10pm. So I had to drive back
all the way to my place. luckily my girl came with me
and good thing there wasn't that much traffic so we had
a pretty smooth driving session. O and on the way back
the closed the entire road en there where cops
everywhere so we had to go through the gas station. When
we saw what was going on it was kinda funny. There was a
chopper in the middle of the highway. We drove on and
got home safely at 2am to sleep a whole 3 hours. At
Brussels airport I had to pay for my boardbag and then
went on to catch my flight... that was 30 min delayed.
Normally that doesn't matter, but I had such tight
connection flights that every minute was welcome. After
8 hours orso we reached JKF (New york) airport 40
minutes late and I already had only 2 hours to get to
the next plain. When I was halfway through the line of
immigration I saw a clock that said I only had an hour
before my flight left. After immigration I sprinted to
luggage dropped that off and sprinted to my gate and
made it when the started boarding. Miami was easy I only
had half an hour cause we where delayed again, but my
gate was next to the gate I came out of so that was
good. After arriving in St. Thomas I was so tired. I
didn't expect my luggage to be there, but then I saw my
boardbag and my other bag so I was stoked. I got picked
up by Nicolas and drove home.

Today there was some
wind. So we checked it out and went out. it was a lil
bit squally so that made it wind on wind off, but
"always look on the bright sight of life" it's warm and
had a nice boardshort session on my 12m2. Then we gopt a
super nice lunch at a local trailer kinda deal and it
was so super nice. Thats a keeper . Tonight Madison
comes in from Mauritius and I think something is going
on in town so I'll see whats happening.

Woke
up at 7:15 to be at the skippers meeting at 8am, but
when we where arriving at the comp area we saw tha flags
pointing down... So no wind again, but there were super
nice ola's so we went peddling for the last day and I
caught my firt over head wave and it was sick! When they
canceled the event we packed and went on the road. 6
hours drive and we hit belgium to switch cars. We tried
to start it, but the battery was flat... so first we
tried to jump start it, but without succes... So we took
out the cables and tries it with a battery to battery
link... but the cables where not fat enough. so in the
middel of the night we had to search a gas station to
buy some. after a while we got the car started, but we
discovered that the head lights didn't work... So we
drove home with alarm lights and big light... but when
we stopped at the end of the street... the horn starts
going off. so we pulled that plug and drove home with a
almost empty tank... first gas station didn't accept any
dutch paying plastic... so we drove on and on with the
indicator on red... finally we got a sign that the next
gas station was only 35 km away and it was open to. We
got home at 4 am and left at 5pm

The
night ended up in just going to bed, because there was
nothing to do... When I woke up I went down to breakfast
and of to the beach. The waves looked better than
yesterday... So I took a shortboard and went peddling.
I'm progressing so I'm super stoked... There was a lil
bit of wind so we pumped up a few kites and threw them
to each other... there was so lil wind we even could run
kite360... that means the kite goes all the way around
you. That was fun for a couple of minutes and we went to
get Micky D again... We had diner and after that we had
a lil drink in a bar somewhere down town.
Today
there is no wind and no waves, but around 4pm the wind
picked up a lil bit and they where planning to do the
downwind speed crossing but of course when the green
flag went up the wind dropped and so did the kites... it
was a funny thing to see so many kites drop. tomorrow
there is a skippers meeting at 8am so that means to bed
early!!

Same
story with the wind... I didn't went surfing. I just
went chilling the whole day until I got bored of that
and I drove around a lil bit to see the place and it was
pretty nice to get out of the competition area for a
while. I thought I was gonna go to bed early but HEY
it's saturday night and there was a party planned so
might as well check it out... When we drove there I
thought wow this is a far walk home so better stay with
the group. In the beginning the party wasn't that much,
but after a while it got better until it went bad again
and then we went home...
|
We
could sleep in an hour more because the clock was put in
winter time... So that meant skippers meeting at
"11ish". After breakfast and the skippers meeting I went
peddling again and the waves weren't that big but they
were fun. When I was out on the water the wind started
to blow a lil... so I got of the water and changed into
my boardshort and t-shirt. Of course the wind dropped
again and I didn't wanna get wet any more. It was a
pretty crowded with people. We even got asked to put
some autographs on some posters... A while after lunch a
couple of us where still hungry and went to Micky D to
have a big mac and a milkshake... I think for now I'll
go to bed early but you'll never know how the nigh will
end...

Well...
Skippers meeting was on at 8:30 like planned... I ended
up being on in the first heat of the man. Good thing
they do the women first.. so that gives me a lil
space... but the wind was to bad... and it was high tide
so the water was smashing against the rocks... We waited
and waited but the wind didn't came so we got a
surfboard and went peddling, because the waves where
super nice compared to Holland... But it was funny
because when you go surfing in Holland you catch the
first wave you see... But here there are sets so me as
dutchie taking the first wave and get the rest of the
set on my hat... But I learned fast and had a good
time...

This
morning the wind forecast was super bad so we got to
sleep in till 10ish for the skippers meeting. After we
had the skippers meeting I did some interneting and went
out peddling again...It was super nice and I think this
is what's going to happen for the rest of the week! At
night there was a party with a jazz band... and it was
pretty nice... When I got home I went to
sleep....

Tuesday
William and myself drove down to St. Gilles for the KPWT
France stop. On the way we picked up 2 other guys, but
first we missed a exit and took a lil D-tour. Arriving
at the guys house we switched cars and driver... and of
course we missed an other 2 exits in half an hour. After
that we made it pretty ok... till the almost very last
by missing an other exit. We arrived at the hotel where
we stayed the first night, but 2 of us didn't make a
reservation so we slept with 4 people in a 2 pers. room.
Was pretty cosy but not too.

The
next morning was the registration day and it was
howling! first it was a lil side off shore.. but it
turned and people went out. After checking in to the
other hotel I took my 7m2 and went out for a sick
session with super sweet waves! it was a bit gusty...
but the messed up thing was when I got of the water it
turned side shore so it got more consistent. But I was
pretty done after my session so I went to chill some and
did the registration. That night was the openings
ceremony with some bites and drinks... We didn't stayed
to long cause skippers meeting is tomorrow at
8:30!

Saturday
and Sunday where the Duch championship... There where
tonz of registrations so tonz of competitors. I was pre
qualified, so I didn't had to do the trails. My first
heat I won with luck... because at like my 4th jump I
let my bar go and my lease went after it so I lost my
kite, but the jumps I did where enough to impress the
judges. The wind dropped so they canceled it after
finishing the first round...
The next day I came
on the beach a lil late so my girl pumped up my kite and
I changed and rolled out my lines got my lycra and had
to go out. I won that heat so I had to go against my
cousin Kevin. The wind was a lil light for my 9m2 in the
beginning but got stronger towards the end. I landed
some good tricks, but Kevin was too strong for my today.
After the Finals the ran the Doubles and had to abort
1,5 hours before the end... The rule in the DC is that
you have to finish the whole ladder in order too let it
count... So I ended up 5th... Pretty stoked, but too bad
we couldn't finish he whole competition.

I'm
down in Belgium for a lil while. Until I go back home.
I'm staying in Knokke. Tomorrow I have to drive down to
be at a Flexi event in Zeebrugge. It's gonna be sick
even if there's no wind, cause it like a whole
happening, with beach Vball and all kind off other sweet
stuff.

Friday
everybody was just chilling a little bit and recovering
from the party. At 11:00 there was a skippers meeting
for the best trick. So I signed in for at the beach
marshal and went out on the water for 7 min. to pull off
the sickest move... I went for a "grabbed slimchange to
blind" and a "downloop double s-bend to blind", but
totally crashed that 1 and I went for a "double s-bend
flat 3" but landed on my leash. I thought well its every
thing or nothing and this time it was not much... The
winner of the best trick was Mickael Fernandez with a
sick "kiteloop frontmobe". The best trick was the only
thing we did that day. At 5 pm the top 6 in the
freestyle had a meeting about Saturday. Cause on
Saturday there would be 8 cameras for 4 hours of LIVE
television and we got a program about what was gonna
happen. After the meeting me and Charlotte went over to
"Anti Paros" (thats an island just beside Paros) to have
diner. We had a super nice fresh made pizza Margarita.
it was super jammy. After we got back we went to sleep.

Saturday
the big day... skippers meeting at 10:00 sharp and ran
the program. The first thing on the program was speed
crossing. It was a down wind/ up wind course. So you had
to go around a down wind boei and then tag up wind to
make the other boei. in total you had to do 5 laps. It
was super cool and the also was a helicopter filming the
whole happening for the live television. When I came in
I ended up 5th. I was pretty stoked. After the speed
crossing there was the best trick and after that there
was the hang time and after the hang time. I had a heat
against Jojo in the freestyle. I won the heat, but it
was just a simulation because we already had the results
for the freestyle. After the 4 hours were over we got
some footage for a lil movie.

My
trip to Greece started already the 8th... I drove down
to Knokke to chill on the beach. We drove on the beach
in a Hummer... and it was sick!!! The next morning we
woke up and chilled a lil bit. took apart a board that
still had to go in my boardbag and left for Brussels.
When we arrived we were stoked that we didn't miss any
exits like I always do... We watched the soccer game but
we had to leave because we had to go to the airport...
so we couldn't watch it all thanks to the extra time and
the penalties, but we listened to it on the car radio.
When we arrived at the airport we checked in our
baggage... I had to pay €30 for my boardbag which I
already knew so I checked in my weekend bag and went to
pay for my boardbag. When we got on the airplane it was
packed. and the seats where so small... but the only
good thing about the flight was that I thought it would
take 4 hours, but that there is an hour time
difference... so it took only 3 . After
getting our luggage we went to take a bus to the dock.
One of the high speed ferries got canceled so the boats
are packed... luckily we got on early so we had a nice
seat, but instead of the 3 hour high speed ferry ride,
we got a 5 hour slow ass ferry ride. When we finally
arrived in Paros we took a bus to the hotel. checked
into the hotel... and registered for the competition.
Then we went back into town to rent a scooter. When we
got to the competition area all the guys where there
already riding. I wanted to go out but the wind died, so
we just ended up chillin out.

First
day of competition and guess what... we have wind ! I ended up
9th because I got kicked out by the winner of the single
elimination... I was riding my heat on my 12m2 and
Charlotte had her heat on a 7m2. Cause the wind died the
later it got... and she had her heat before me. But the
place is sick when its windy. I brought my shorty but
I'm going out in just boardshorts and i'm fine. After
they canceled it for the day we all went down to the
pool in the hotel and had some wet fun!!! The next day
there was wind for a little session and for 1 heat. The
rest of the day we just were sitting, waiting wishing
for something to do. But in the end we had a lot of fun
together with all the riders. We went wakeboarding
behind the jet ski and 1 guy got a kite up and got
pulled up by the jet ski and went like 25/30 meters high
it looked sick.
today we had to wake up at 6:30.
We woke up a lil later... but we had a skippers meeting
at 7:30, because the wind was suppose to drop in the
afternoon, but it didn't. So we got the whole freestyle
done and when your 9th in the single you fall back to
13th in the double. I passed 3 heats and then I lost
against the guy I lost against in Italy, so I ended up
6th in the freestyle. Mickael Fernandez took first place
for the men and Gisela took 1st place for the women.
this lil kid is ripping like crazy. She was doing
powered blind judge (railey to blind only with air
pass). After the final we had a lunch break and then we
started the hang time contest. I didn't compete because
I only had short lines... and I didn't like to use
different material then Flexi cause I don't think that's
fare to them. After the day was over we chilled a lil
bit at the pool and then I went out to diner with
Charlotte... When we got back we just had enough time to
change clothes and jump into the bus to the party. It
was a sick party on the other side of the island. We had
free drinks what can be very dangerous. We went back
with the bus to the hotel at 2.50. We were both sleeping
and the bus driver had to wake us. and guess.... there
is wind again !!!

The
guy who I lost against won the single elimination. The
double started right away, but the wind wasn't that
great so it would take a long time... when round three
was complete we called it a day, cause the sun was
shining in the water what made judging almost
impossible. The next day we had a skippers meeting at
6:30 am. for a speed crossing down the lake. So we drove
to the start and waiting for wind we played some game on
a pool table called: "Slush". it was pretty funny, but
there was no wind. So the speed crossing was canceled.
When we came back the wind started to pick up but was
still gusty as crazy. People went out with 15m2 and
barely moved. At 2:30pm the wind picked up, but the
podium was at 4pm so we couldn't do anything but pack
our boardbags and wait till the price ceremony. I ended
up 5th on the first event. Straight after the price
giving I went to the hotel to get my stuff and got back
for the pizza party and the price money ofcourse. I got
on the train to Milan Central station and got a sick
hotel over there to spend the last night in Italy. At
5am the phone of the hotel room rung. I picked up and it
said: "Good morning, this is your automatic wake up
call". I asked that the night I checked in cause the bus
was leaving at 6am to go to the airport. At check in I
didn't even have to pay for my boardbag, even though I
also had a weekend bag with me. So I was like uhm...
ok... sweet. So got on the plain home and when I landed
I went home and went almost straight to the KBO in my
homespot Noordwijk.

Last
night I went to bed not to late, but I heard the wind
already howling. So this morning the wind started pretty
early and it was strong right away!! I was in the 3rd
heat from this morning and I pumped up my 9m2 and my
7m2. For my heat I took out my 7m2 and went out. The
wind was super gusty and the water was freezing cold. I
passed my first heat, but when I came from the water I
was shaking from being out on the water for 10 min.
Luckily I didn't had to wait that long for my next
heat... I went out on 7m2 again but it was so gusty that
when the heat started my kite just dropped out of the
sky... so that took like 30 sec to relaunch and thats
not really a good start. I couldn't do anything I wanted
because I was lit out of my mind on my 7m2. So I lost
that heat... I ended up 5th in the single elimination.
The final is out now so I go watch it. the guy where I
lost against is in it.

Yesterday
nothing happened cause we had no wind. That evening was
a sick Freestyle motocross show. The building up took
like a whole day and at night when they went off it was
insane what those guys pulled off!! I'll get some
pictures later. To bad that they only rode for half an
hour. Then we went back to the hotel and did a nice
sleeping session. I woke up at 9:15 am and the skippers
meeting was at 9:30. So I went down and straight into
the van. The morning the wind sucked a lil bit but it
got better. So I prepared for my heat. In my heat I took
out a 9m2 just like the guy I was against. So I went out
and it was so flipping gusty... that 1 time you were lit
out of your mind and the other time your working your
ass off to get going. I did some nice moves like: a
S-bend with the kite almost on the water, a nice powered
slimchange, a kiteloop handlepass and some more
tricks... but it was not enough to beat the other guy...
although everyone on the beach including the guy I was
competing against said that I had won it, but I guess
the judges thought different. Well the only thing I can
do now is hope for enough wind for the double
elimination. The wind by the way started howling and
kites where lifted and trown away... it was insane!! but
nobody got hurt....... yet !
I just
got informed that the judges made a mistake and that
they reversed the judgement! So I passed the heat
instead of the other guy!! So I'm still in the running

Well
we went down to that place today. There was north wind
first but still to light. but it would pick up... so we
had a game of soccer. After a while waiting and lunch,
clouds came and the wind turned south. So we wanted to
do a speed crossing, but from the place where we were it
was 40 km. So we drove down a lil and then it would be
25 km. So almost everybody pumped up and had there
wetsuit on... but the wind was so light that I thought
no way i'm gonna do this so I didn't go. the first 2
guys went out and then they canceled it. So everybody
had to get out of there wetsuit and then we drove back
to the competition area. waited a lil and got back to
the hotel.

The
good part was I didn't pump up my kites and they didn't
get wet. The bad part was the wind came with rain and
thunder... so they run the first few ladies heats when
the wind was pretty ok and it wasn't raining yet. They
canceled when the weather turned bad. So we had lunch
and got some nice sunny and rainy hours.
The next
morning we had to get up early cause the wind came from
the north and then its super gusty so we were gonna go
to another place. When we got there the wind was good
side shore but there was almost no beach and there was
all kinds of construction around it. So it would be to
dangerous. We left that place to go back to Colico and
some guys of the organization where looking for a better
spot. and they found it. So a few people were gonna
check it out. I was 1 of those few people. the launching
and landing area was a lil scatsy, but when you where
out it was all good. a bit of current but all ok. So
after the kite session we went back to Colico cause
there was a Pizza party or something, but because we
went kiting we were 2 hours late and had to share 1
pizza with 7 guys. Michael Fernandez left cause his wife
is getting a baby. Tomorrow we'll go to that place and
hopefully have a competition. I'll keep yall updated
when I'm around internet.

After
getting back home at 12pm (I think) I had to pack some
more stuff. Cause I had to get up at 4.15 am the next
morning... so after packing I had a good 3 and a half
hour sleep. So when my alarm clock went off I got out of
bed woke up my dad, cause he was so kind to bring me to
the airport again where he picked me up 5 hours before.
So all went well checked in paid for a boardbag and got
through security. Where someone got in trouble because
he had a boxing thing (where you injure people with) in
his bag. well I got in the plane and fell asleep... woke
up put on some music and fell back asleep again. Till
just before landing. I got down to the baggage belt and
a guy from the police I guess... asked if I would come
with him... so I did and asked why. He said: "drugs"
"the dog smelled you"... so I was ok I don't smoke but
you can search for it... but all was ok and when I went
back for the baggage belt "The dog" came and sniffed me
and walked on... anyways I got my luggage and got in the
bus to Milano central station. I bought a ticket for the
train to Colico where the KPWT competition is held. and
I didn't know where to go and it was a lil unclear, so I
went to a lady and asked and she said you just missed it
by 5 min. So I had to wait for 2 hours. It's ok cause
it's a pretty crowded railway station so and I love
watching people... so i'll survive!

Finally
getting in Colico. I had to take a bus to the hotel, but
the last bus just left and it would take 2 hours till
the next bus. So I called a taxi, but non of them wanted
to come cause they were all in a different city. So I
didn't know what to do and then someone offered me a
ride so I took it. Dropped my stuff at the hotel and got
picked up to go to the competition area to subscribe.
There was no wind so I just put together my board and
chilled in the nice temperatures. and if you look at the
mountains surrounding the place there is still a lil
snow on there. I slept well and had breakfast and now
I'm heading for the competition area. There was no wind
yesterday so we sat on the competition area the whole
time and did a lil bit of nothing. Like being bored have
some lunch a being bored some more. When the day was
over we went back to the hotel and had a nice dinner.
After dinner we tried a skateboard on 2 wheels and it
was sick!! After we found a ball we played a football
game with a couple of guys. and had a blast. Today it
seems to be a lil bit windy there some people out
already. So I think i'm gonna pump my
kites.

We
make long days these days... get up at 7ish for the
morning shoot. then get lunch back home go out kiting go
have dinner and dress up for the evening shoot that last
till the sun goes under. It's pretty cool though being
at all these sick places wearing sick clothes! yesterday
and the day before we had a super nice session with some
nice waves and perfect for 9m2. today the levante wind
started to blow... than the wind is offshore here! So
first I go take a nap to load up some NRG and then drive
to a place to go kiting where the wind is good. So sweet
dreamzZz. when I woke up from my lil nap. we went to
Playa Bolonia, but the wind was side offshore so it was
super gusty and it was also super strong. So we didn't
bother going out there... we wanted to go to Getares,
cause the wind is on shore there. but we didn't had
enough time for that, cause we also had to do a evening
shoot. When we were done with that we went back to
Tarifa for some dinner. after that we went to bed...
This morning we could sleep in and rest a lil cause
we're going to Getares for action shooting.
I
woke up on myself this morning and that was pretty nice!
The strong Levante wind was still blowing away Tarifa...
So we went up to Getares for a kiting session... When we
came there the wind was a little bit light... what was
so strange, it's blowing like 30/40 knots in Tarifa and
here I just could go with my 15m2 and just stay up wind.
Because we were there a bit early we waited and expected
the wind to pick up. But fortunately it didn't. So we
went home. Tomorrow we go back home after a morning
photoshoot for some more clothes.

This
morning my alarm went of at 4:30 am. Because I had to be
next to the Highway to get picked up by Meike. When she
picked me up we headed for schiphol to start our trip to
Tarifa. checking in was ok but this guy was crying for
0.1 kg. I had to weigh it on a special weighing thing to
see if it was not over the 32 kg... else he would
ball... N e ways we got on to the security and they
asked me: "What country are you from" so I say I'm from
holland... and he O I thought you where from Germany! So
I was like THANKS geezz!! ok the rest of the way it went
ok... but when we landed and got out of the plane and I
figured already in the car on the way to tarifa that I
forgot my book... and it just got exiting! Good so we
came down here with farther no troubles or what so ever!
we got the key from the apartment and dropped off the
stuff. went to the beach to get some nice and warm sun
! We
headed for the aqua straight away and it was freezing!!
luckily I brought my wetsuits...
7am we got a
wake up shout from the "boss" and we had to get out of
bed for the first session of the photo shoot for 07
summer. We got our clothes and let me tell yall they
look insane, there super sick!! So we got up the beach
and the big sand dune! we where done at 10ish cause the
light got to hard! so there's gonna be a kiting session
later on cause I think it's windy!!

After
looking the forecast a few times. We drove up to
Enkhuizen on Friday in the beginning there wasn't that
much wind but I thought... well I'm here now might as
well go out, even though it sucked. I couldn't do any
thing but stay upwind with my 15m2! Then I lend my kite
and board to some lil kid of 13 I think... and he went
off! when I got my kite back the wind picked up and I
was perfect on my 15m2 and had a super good session.
When I was done Jobsie took my stuff and went out for a
lil while. After he came in the wind was gone, so we
drove home but not until we made a pit stop at Mc
Donald!
The following day I had to teach for a
few hours. but it was still offshore at Noordwijk so we
drove to Schellinkhout which is close to Enkhuizen. I
had to start teaching at 3ish but we where there around
10ish so I went out on my 12m2 but is was offshore and
super gusty. Came back in and waited until they showed
up. They showed up early and one of the guys bought a
new kite so I was kind enough to help him built it up
. Lessons
went pretty good they all stood up the board in there
first lesson. so they where stoked. I was stoked for
them so everybody went home happy.
Monday morning
we got in the car cause it was still offshore in
Noordwijk and went to Ijburg, but there they put all
fences everywhere so we got back in the car and drove to
Enkhuizen again. The wind started of bad again. but
still good enough for 12m2. After like a hour the wind
started howling and I was lit out of my mind on my 12m2.
The only thing we could do was boosting huge!! So did
some board-offs and some insane high jumps. After a
while the wind got a lil bit less and I started to
kiteloop hp. The wind decreased again and we drove back
home before rush hour.... we thought... we had to fill
up the car at the gas station and the lady behind the
desk took forever. I also had an Ice cream... so I
started to eat it... but she didn't like that that much.
We still made it before rush hour but it was a close
call.

My
cousin Jalou had her B-day last week and I didn't really
know what to get her. So I took her to the wakeboard
cable park. The weather was nice the temperature finally
a lil bit better! So we got there and after a few warm
up rounds we tried some tricks. Jalou kicked of with a
sick railey! I did a sweet S-bend landed it perfect but
after the jump I wanted to make a switch of stands and
made a sweet faceplant! I also tried some flat 3's and
switch indy to blind. We ended up boarding for 2 hours.
then we were done with it changed into our clothing and
got something to drink.

This
weekend was the opening of a kite shop in Belgium. So I
got in my car and drove down there. everything went well
until I hit the ring of Antwerp. Got lost major and went
on some kind of Pay road and had to pay €5. ofcourse It
was the wrong way and I had to turn around and pay
again. Then I saw a name on the boards that I recognized
so I followed that. It turned out that I drove like 80
km more than necessaries. Still in time for the opening
and for the BBQ. I also went down the beach to check out
the new hydro kite the "ION". it was a super nice
feeling when I flew it on the beach. Still have to test
it on the water tough. 1 of the things I liked a lot was
that the bar had NO pulleys. so you feel where the kite
is and what it does. When I was done with the ION I went
down the shop to get some hot dogs. When I finished one
I went down for an other one cause they where sweet!
when the party started there was free beer unfortunately
I still had to drive so I went over on coke after 2. At
the end of the party we massacred a chocolate easter
bunny and eat it! We went home when the bunny was
totally gone. So I drove together with Bjorn down to his
place to crash.

After
a short night of sleeping but enough. At least for me. I
took a shower and stood there for like 30 min, cause it
was nice and warm! Down at the beach the wind was a lil
light, but the sun was out so I pumped up my 15m2 fusion
and went out. but is was like... looping looping looping
and then the walk of shame up the beach. gotta work that
triangle right? Because it was sunny and not cold I did
that for another 2 times and then I was over it. I
changed and got some nice pasta with the Flexifoil buggy
guys at the local surf club. Then I rolled up my kite
and got ready to leave. Bjorn was going to Venezuela
monday so I took him with me 2 Holland cause he's
departing from AMS. The way back went a lot smoother
then the way there. we even made a stop at the burger
king and still did it in less time then the way there.
Got home around 11pm.

After
the surfclub was build up again. Everybody suddenly
awoke from there winter sleep and came kiting again. The
conditions are sweet, with the temperature going up and
the wind blowing side and side on shore! Saturday was a
good day. I had a very long session from like 3 hours on
my 9m2 and I was wearing the stuff you can see on the
picture. To bad the wind died in the end, but it was an
OK day.
Today there where a lot of clouds in the
morning, but at 3 the clouds went away and the blue sky
came to warm our spot. when I came to the beach I saw it
was howling, so I pumped my 7m2. Got in the water
without gloves and a cap. First it was ok. Until I
crashed for the first time. After that it was fine. Then
the wind got a lil bit less and then I was lit out of my
mind on my 7m2 with 17 m/s (17.2 m/s = 8 BFT) and with
gusts nearly 24 m/s (24.5 m/s = 10 BFT). Until I
couldn't hold it any more. I went to the beach with my
kite almost on the ground and got dragged till finally
someone caught my kite. With temperatures around the 12
degrees celsius it felt like Spring mixed with the wind
of Autumn.

wow, it was perfect
today. for the first time this year in Holland I went
out! It snowed a lil bit, but then the sky was turning
bleu with a few clouds. I took my 12m2 Fusion! and did a
nice warming up with dune jumping. The weather
conditions where: Side on shore from the left. about 5
degrees air temp. and 4 degrees aqua temp. and a 5 - 6
BFT! and some sweet kickers rolling in! So after I got
warm with dune jumping. I got into my wetsuit and pulled
on my gloves, shoes and cap. I went for the water and I
thought OMG I'm going to freeze!! but then I touched the
water and it wasn't that bad at all! so I kited for 1,5
hour. Then the coldest part came... changing... But then
nice warm clothes and a car with the heater full
throttle! Drove home and got a nice warm dinner and now
I'm gonna chill in bath! Saturday and Sunday are looking
sweet!

I'm
back from the even colder munich. Our flight was
overbooked so we got cash and a free dinner and I added
the access to the business lounge... so first we went
somewhere to chill out and do some internet... Ofcourse
our tummies began to rumble and we spent our dinner
cheque. Then we went on the hunt for the business
lounge... When we found it, we got in, took our apples
out and got a Bacardi and coke. We chilled for like 1
min. and discovered that there was no internet in the
business lounge... so we finished our drink and got out
of that place! To go back to the Wireless zone! After
calling my girl it was time for us to get our asses on
the plane. After some arguing about the window seat
Ruben won and fell asleep the whole way. When the plain
landed we got a taxi and boosted to the
hotel.
|
We
got up in time for breakfast and got a lift to the
trade! The first day was pretty ok. We saw some sick
clothing and walked around than came back to the
Brunotti stand to drink some and rest some. When the day
was over we went back to the hotel and took a taxi to
mexican restaurant. when we got inside the restaurant.
it was packed! We eat, putted some red pepper in
someone's dinner and blowed some pepper in the air. When
we got back to the restaurant we chilled in the bar for
a few minutes and went of to bed. The next day was the
same thing only the chinese people on the trade took
nothing back home, so they sold everything for a low
price. so I got a nice watch and Plop got a pool table.
At the end of the day we broke down the Brunotti stand,
because it was the last day. After the alarm went off on
Ruben's phone we fell back asleep again and we where
about to miss breakfast again till I kicked us out of
bed! so we got up, had some breakfast, took a shower and
checked out of the hotel. My flight back home was not
until tonight so we checked out munich. Axially we went
down to an internet cafe and sat there a while. Then we
took the subway to the airport and dropped me on the
plane... Ruben's plain wasn't until the next day so he
waited on the airport till Susi landed. after a short
flight I got home safe.

I'm
back home from a wonderful time in the Virgin Islands.
I've bought a little waterproof digi photo camera there.
After I put it in movie mode and took some sick footage
I downloaded it on my Mac and started editing for the
first time... Of course I have seen Ruben do it a
billion times... and with my nerding skills it was not
really a problem... so here it is my first movie: Sander

The
last couple of days we had sweet winds. Twice with 13m2,
once with 15m2 and once with 11m2.
Friday the
13th and full moon...I went out to dinner with my
girl...After a sweet dinner we went for ice cream but it
was closed...So we went to "Blockbuster" to get some
sweet "ben & jerry's"... Because it was full moon,
there was a full moon party. everything was sick the
music, the people. I don't know what went wrong, but the
party didn't got started at "duffy's". So we went to
another place called : The bouda bar. was a bit better,
but still didn't got started. so we went back
home.
When I went to the airport my girl dropped
me of and I went on my way home.

We
got back to st. Thomas with the Bertram (a boat) the
ocean was pretty flat so we had a nice and quit ride.
When we reached the dock it was already dark. So we
unloaded the clothes and things we needed and the rest
we picked up the following day. The next day we got up
at 6:30 am to go surfing in "Hull Bay" on probably the
cleanest waves of the year (well the year just started,
but from last year). Then the wind started to pick up
and the next day we went out kiting at "Linquist Beach"
first on my 13m2 but that was not enough so I came in
and pumped up my 15m2. It was pretty funny because every
sunday there is music there and a lot of people. So we
gave a nice show. The wind kept picking up so the next
day I was good on my 13m2 at the same beach. After that
the wind turned a bit so we went out with the Bertram to
"Hans Lollick" and there were some nice waves and a lot
of wind. I was overpowered on my 13m2 but I was to lazy
to pump up my 11m2. I took my new camera and got some
sweet clips. When we were finished. It was almost dark
when the engines of the boat started and we were gone...
there was just enough light to go out side the reef.
when we got home we had some nice lasagna.

The
First day of the year 2006. The wind kept blowing whole
night and got even stronger... so I wanted to pack my
9m2 but I discovered that I was missing 1 stick for in
my wing tip so I just took my 11m2. This time we took
the car for a sweet down winder. When I went out I was
loaded on my 11m2. Then a big squall came and it started
to get really windy and we took some massive jumps and
then went to shore because after a squall the wind
dies... when it stopped raining the wind came back 10
min. later and we where ready for the down winder. I was
cranking on my 11m2 and just went super high and did
some old skool tricks... When we came to the point of
arrival the wind died a bit but came up stronger a few
minutes later. So I took a small break and got something
to eat. Then went back out for the last old skool
session of the day. When we got back I was so flipping
tired I took a shower and went to sleep... at 5:30
p.m.
The start of a new week here. We finished
the slider, with thanks to the man with the tools... its
not that big of a slider, but we made it out of scrap
and its funny. We loaded it up in the truck and brought
it to the spot where we always kite. When we walked up
the beach it was already in the water... the wind didn't
drop, so I wanted my 9m2, but 1 stick was missing so I
was McGeyver for a second and fixed myself a stick of a
piece of PVC. So when I pumped up my 9m2. I was stoked
and it was perfect for my 9m2... There was a nice swell
coming in so I went outside the reef for a nice wave
riding session... After that day I was dead and i'm
gonna take a break from kiting tomorrow and take some
rest. After a nice swordfish and pasta dinner. We
started a movie and of course didn't finish it and went
to sleep.

Tuesday
rest day. It was pretty windy again, but my body was
tiered so I took a break, but than I heard it was not
gonna be windy for the next days. So I decided that I'd
take a rest morning. so I chilled a bit finished my book
and watched a movie: "Oceans eleven". when that was
finished we went up to the spot. where everybody just
came of the water, because the wind decreased for a few
minutes. So everybody was pumping 13m2 and 15m2, but I
only brought my 9m2 and 11m2 to the spot. So I pumped my
11m2 and when I was good to go, the wind picked back up
and I was perfect on it. I kited for 1, 1,5 hour and
then it started to get cold. So I went back to the
beach. When we wrapped up the stuff we walked back home.
Took a nice warm shower, played some guitar and went to
dinner. After dinner there was a show by the children
here. When they were done I grabbed my guitar and played
some sweet tunezzz and went to
bed.
Wednesday...No wind. We had no milk any more
so we took the truck and went to get some, but the
stores were still closed. On the way back we came by a
bakery and stopped for some banana bread, cinnamon buns
and some eggs. When we got back I already was stuffed.
So I passed for breakfast. We watched the movie: "Oceans
twelve". when the movie was finished we loaded up the
truck with people and snorkeling gear and went for some
sick lobster hunting. It is pretty rough to catch them.
I didn't caught any. But I saw a ray. After the
snorkeling session we got back to the bungalows and
chilled, before we went down to a bar, for some
alcoholic drinks. Most of us had to much and that was
pretty funny. When we came back I was so tiered and went
to bed.

Saturday
we woke up at 7ish because we had to leave with the
helicopter to the place where we going to stay from
today until the 5th of January. So you never fly in a
helicopter and so you fly its as if it were a car... we
landed on the secret spot and It is so pretty here its
unbelievable. we got to go kiting and we where
overpowered with our 13m2. It was raining and cloudy all
day but we went out with a camera and took some nice
filming shizznit. so after this trip i'll probably make
a movie. then you'll really get an idea how beautiful it
here is. couse you can look at pictures and it may say
more then a thousand words but it's nothing compared
with the real deal. After the kiting session we took al
the food in the bungalows and took a shower. After the
shower we had dinner and after dinner we went to watch a
movie, but we fell asleep on that...
Sunday
morning we woke up from the light that came in the room.
I checked out the window to see if it was windy and it
was. We went up to the same spot as we did the day
before, but this time we didn't had to walk with our
gear... we put the gear in the zodiac and walked up the
beach and 1 man got the stuff at the place. it looked
really light...so I pumped up my 13m2 and I was perfect
on it... sometimes even overpowered...It was sick after
a day kiting taking pictures I went with the truck to
the place where we had the gear, but then you had to go
off the off-road so we did that but it didn't really
worked out so we turned around and went to a nice bar
and had some nice drinks. I drove the gear after that
home with a few people. Took a shower and had christmas
dinner... and did a few beers... now i'm gonna watch the
movie we didn't finish yesterday.

Monday
for a change its sunny again, but there was no wind...
too bad... so we put a inflatable trampoline in the
water and had some fun on that... when we got sick of
that thing we went snorkeling... it was beautiful and
there where a lot of fish. When my feet started to hurt
from the to small flippers we swum back to shore. We had
our minds on wakeboarding. So we put the boat in the
water and started the engine. Suddenly the people on the
beach where like screaming... WOW.... so I looked back
and there was a small tornado coming towards us... and I
turned my back into it and it hit me with sand... well
after the sick tornado experience we went
wakeboarding... I was the first to try. I got in the
water, grabbed the handle and gave thumps up! The boat
got into motion... SNAP... the rope broke on two places,
because it was pretty old. After redoing it like 4 times
it finally lasted. All the people were done and we got
back to the beach and took a hot shower. For dinner we
had lobster that other people caught. For me it was the
first time I had lobster and it was nicer then I
expected. For desert we had fruits. To live the
tradition we watched an other movie...Pretty woman...We
where so tiered from the whole day being busy that we
fell asleep.
Tuesday no wind again... So today we
took it nice and slow... We build up a tent, because we
lost our bungalow for tonight. So we have to sleep in a
tent 1 night. It wasn't really hard to put it up even
though we didn't had a map to show us where, how and
when everything had to go. With 10 people we went
snorkeling only this time out side the reef... It was
too far to swim so we took a dingy... Normally for 4
persons but this time we fit all 10 in there... and I
can tell you if there where more people the dingy was on
the bottom of the ocean. So we got to the place and
dropped the anchor. Put our gear on and got out of the
boat... When I looked under water. it was so beautiful.
You can't write it down without a pen. We saw some sick
animals... Like fish and a ray. We swam through some
caves. When we came back we just chilled the rest of the
day. Tuna was the fish for dinner tonight. I had mine
medium and it was perfect. When dinner was finished my
back started to hurt again... so I went to lie down and
watched the rest of pretty woman. At bed time we went
down to the tent that we set up on the beach. After a
shadow movie from Madi we fell asleep

Wednesday
we woke up in a tent and it is my girls B-day. The surf
was up so some people went surfing in the morning. When
they came back we had some breakfast. Madi and Garett
got the movie " Auto Focus" so of course we watched it
right away. It's a sick movie... but what in space
monkeys 2 where waves are sliders in this movie... so
instead of a lot of waves, they give you a lot of
sliders. My rating is 7,5. When we finished the movie we
put our gear in the dingy and walked up the beach. When
we came to the spot it looked windy so I pumped up my
13m2... but after some tacks I went in and pumped my
15m2 and even with my 15m2 I had to walk up the beach...
after a long time walking up the beach my foot strap
popped out and I was hungry so I decided to quit. Put my
kites and board in the dingy and walked down the beach
to the bungalows. Got some food and went for a shower.
For dinner we had french fries and Belgian mayonnaise.
For desert there was ice cream... I had "chocolate chip
cookie dough" from Ben & Jerry's. Because my back
still hurts I got some stretching exercises from Jose
(the owner of Caribbean surf company). and my back feels
a lot better after that session...Later we watched a
movie "Die Another Day" but I was fighting my sleep but
fell asleep in the first 15 min.
Thursday same
story... We woke up and had our breakfast, loaded up the
dingy with the kite gear and we walked over the beach to
the same spot we always go to. I thought it was windy
for my 13m2 but Garett was not even going so well on his
14m2 so I pumped my 15m2 again... did some walks on the
beach and made some crashes. Then I took an under water
camera and made some nice shots of Madi, Derek, Garett
and my honey came by a few times to. After a hour I was
cold and I got out of the aqua. I got hungry so I went
back for some lunch... then watched "American pie 4:
band camp" and it was so funny... after the movie I
wanted to go back and pack my stuff, but then my girl
already packed it... guess I o her. today there was
pasta with red meat sauce or lobster sauce. I picked the
red meat. and it was mmm. when we had finished someone
asked me to get my guitar and he played some and made up
some funny songs. For a change we didn't watched a movie
but we played a game of back gammon, read and went to
sleep.

Friday
it was blowing. so we put sunscreen on and had
breakfast. this time I also took my 11m2 to the spot,
but when we cam there it had decreased and it was good
for 15m2.till after like half a hour the wind turned a
little bit and it was offshore...so we packed our gear
and wanted too check for an other place to kite. So we
first went back to home base and some people went with
the car too look if there was wind in the other place.
They came back with bad news. the direction was good but
it had decreased to much. So we watched a movie "Die
Another Day" the one we fell asleep on two days ago. Of
course at the end of the movie Mr. Bond had sex. Then we
chilled and took showers. Madi and Garett are making a
slider. That's gonna be fun!! But because there is
almost nothing on the island its from scrap. Dinner was
on the beach. We looked through the Guinness book of
records. Went to bed read some and went to
sleep...
Another saturday in paradise... When we
came out of bed the dingy was already gone with all the
gear. I made my girl breakfast. When we got to the
kiting spot everybody was already on the water. The wind
blew good for my 15m2... but I didn't quite feel it...
so I took a break and went in the water to get some
shots. It was blowing for my 11m2 when I came out of the
water... but I was hungry so I got something to eat. I
pumped up my 11m2, switched it with my 15m2 and asked
for a launch. It felt so good finally with a smaller
kite than 15m2. After I crashed to much I took a break.
In that break it was raining like...WOW... When Madi
went in the water with his new water housing for his new
camera I went back in. It was still cranking. When the
wind turned a little bit light and I was exhausted, I
went to shore to pack up and load up the dingy. After we
fought the munches, we took a shower and prepared
ourself for dinner on the beach. After dinner we build a
camp fire and after the camp fire we took a nap. When
mom woke us up we went to "the reef hotel" for a couple
of drinks and some dancing. till

The
alarm dad came to wake us up to go and drop stuff of at
the place we are going for Xmas and new year... and we
went with the helicopter!! that was my first time in
one. and it was sick I got the shotgun (frontseat) so I
could look around and I can tell you that it was
sick...we landed there and dropped stuff at the
bungalows and went swimming for a little while and that
island is so pretty. on the way back I had the shotgun
again and this time it was sick we went between rocks
and we made a drop of at a cliff...the pilot is the bomb
(pilot was mom) but the island doesn't have internet so
you have to miss my updates for a day or 10... but don't
worry I will update you after we come back...that night
we had Xmas dinner with the family. I got tonz of
presents I was stoked
today my back felt a lot
better and I went kiting... I was overpowered on my 15m2
and I had a good session... after the great session we
went to go load up the helicopter for the last round to
bring stuff to the place where we're going. after that
had to pick someone up from the airport, but he had an
hour delay so we went to get some frozen yoghurt. and
then picked him up...after we picked him up we went to
Caribbean surf company. to spend our gift
certificates... the store stayed open just for us and we
where the only ones in there I fell VIP. Tomorrow
morning early we going with the helicopter to the pretty
place...

Yesterday
was an other sunny warm day. We started of by a
breakfast and later we chilled some and played some PS2
and some guitar. After we had enough of that we went
down to east end and Madi could kite on his 10m2 but he
weighs less than a feather. My back is still a bit
facked up so I just take it easy for a while. so I went
swimming with my girl and relaxed a bit and when Madi
was done kiting... well when the wind dropped we went
for some food couse we where hungry so we stopped for a
burrito and we had to buy a lock for the engine of the
dinghy. for dinner we had some nice chicken and potatoes
and some nice ice for dessert. After dinner I watched
the movie Hitch (with Will Smith) with my
babe.
This morning I was awake at like 9ish and
it started of with rain... for like 2 min. I made myself
some breakfast. brushed my teeth and then we went to
Magens bay and we chilled there on the beach. and had a
slice of pizza for lunch. after lunch we went swimming
in the baby bleu water. even though the sun wasn't
shinning the water was still as clear as a crystal. we
went back short after the swimming session and went for
a world famous milkshake at a place I don't remember the
name from... but the milkshake was the shizznit. it was
so nice... for dinner we had sushi and that was pretty
nice to.

Sunday
we went to the harbor to buy a camera. There where two
cruise ships in and they where massive. I got a pretty
good deal with the camera so I was stoked. After buying
the cam we went to the kiting spot. I wanted to test my
new toy but the battery was empty. so I went kiting on
my 13m2. It was stronger then the day before so had fun,
but my lower back was killing me. I don't know how it
comes but its not nice! So went home and chilled played
some guitar. Had dinner and went of to
bed.
Monday woke up chilled some and went on tour
with my girl's bro. second time I drove an automatic and
it went pretty cool with driving on the left side of the
road and no clue what so ever who had priority. We went
to go for a kiting session and we got there safe, but it
was for me way to light, but he could go a little bit on
his 12m2 but not really. I went in the water to finally
test my new toy and it was sick!! the wind wasn't that
good so didn't take to many action pictures. when the
wind dropped almost al the way we went in the swimming
pool for a photo session. and it was hilarious we
laughing our socks of.

Friday
16th of december I woke up at 5am to go take a quick
shower and get ready to go to the airport. My flight was
at 8.35am so I was really on time. when I came for the
check in I had my boardbag, a weekend bag and my
backpack with my guitar sticking out of it. I had piece
concept that means you can take two pieces of luggage
that can be 23 kilos each! and normally i'm always
overweight and now I had some kilos over! my first
flight was from Amsterdam to Madrid. In Madrid I had to
wait for 2,5 hours for my connection flight to San Juan
(Puerto Rico) but that flight had a delay from 50
minutes. but it didn't really matter because I had to
wait on San Juan for 2,5 hours. and the delay would only
mean less waiting there. I got in the plain and there
was no one sitting next to me so I thought sweet
relaxing, but I couldn't rase the arm seat in the middle
couse it was stuck. half way I changed my time to porto
rico time (-5GTM I think). when I came down to San Juan
and went to immigration first they didn't let me enter
the USA because I didn't know the street name where I
would be staying so I had to make a phone call and ask
for the address. then it was ok and they let me in. so I
went down to get my luggage from the belt and walked to
my next flight. but they hold me at customs and I had to
open my bags. I had nothing so I could go. dropped my
bags at the place where you drop your bags. and went
waiting for my last flight to St. Thomas. When I arrived
My girl friend was waiting for my outside. We went to
pickup my bags but they only one bag had arrived. and
the next flight landed an hour later. so we went to town
to see whats up and then went back to the airport to get
my other bag.
The first day I went out over the
balcony and I was shocked...the view is so pretty like
right now i'm typing this story and looking over out on
Magens bay and it is paradise. there was wind and we
went kiting it was a little bit gusty but it was ok
after a month of no kiting. I went out on 13m2 and had a
nice session. after kitting we went for some food
because we where so hungry it wasn't even funny so I got
this huge sandwich with curry-chicken and swiss cheese
and it was so nice. but it was so big that I was full
for dinner. after coming home from dinner we went to
sleep.
today I woke up and had some nice crapes
for breakfast and it's blowing harder then yesterday so
its gonna be a good nice session today. later on I'm
gonna buy a camera and take some pictures. not to make u
guys jealous or something...

Tomorrow
it's finally so far...I'm trading this cold Holland for
the warm and nice weather place St Thomas USVI. I'm
going there to see my girlfriend again and ofcourse to
relax and kiteboard/surf. I'll be there for a month and
ofcourse i'll keep you guys updated with almost :P
everything what i'm doing there! i'm going to buy a
photo-camera and take lots of pictures of the
beautiful island and the kiting action ofcourse!! so if

Yo
couse we had not much to do in this cold Holland we went
to go even colder! We went to an indoor snowworld! so we
went boarding with a few people and not on a kite but
just a board!! for me it was a while ago that I had
snowboarded so it was pretty cool! they have 3 slopes in
snowworld and first I went on the longest one just to
get the feeling again. When that was back I went to the
funpark with sliders and a kicker...I did some nice
slides I wanted to go over the kicker, but you had to
wait for ever couse it was super busy for that one...so
I said F*ck you and just used the sliders!! after the
awsome snowboard session of 2 hours we went to party in
home town Noordwijk!! and it was sick, i can tell you
that!!

I
wasn't in the main event. So I made myself usefull with
running people back upwind. Ruben won the single
elemination and kevin became second. in the double Aaron
went from the 2nd round al the way up against Ruben in
the final. becouse the wind wasn't that good the double
elemination took till sunday morning. The final was
Aaron vs Ruben and Ruben won the heat and became the
winner in the freestyle. after the freestyle they did
the wave event. but I went with Madison downwind to the
laguna. and that was pretty nice. the only problem was
that we had to walk back, but half way we saw a buggy
and we paid 10R$ to bring us home so that was
sweet.

This
morning we woke up at 6:30 couse the skippers meeting
was at 7:00. got ready and pumped our kites. I was up in
the first heat against Gonzalez, and 2 other guys. The
flags where hanging so low that you couldn't see if they
where up or not. suddenly everybody was doing tricks and
I looked again to the flags and the green flag was up.
so I had to did some stuff but didn't advance. so I got
to go to the second round and won my heat...and got to
the 3rd round where I got to go against Rui Miera and
lost this heat. So I didn't make it to the main event.
So the rest of my time here I use to
train.

We
had a pretty good session on our 7. it was less bussy
then the other day! so we had more space and did some
nice action. The day after we went down to Paracuru what
is up more north and there I tried the new Flexifoil
Fusion and guess what...its SICK!!That evening after a
while driving and getting lost in the buggy we had a
party in the jungle bar where we went, was pretty sick!
The next day we relaxed a bit and got our stuff together
to go to Fortaleza for the competition. we went ther
with a taxi and looked for a nice pousada. we went to 2
and the seccond one was pretty nice. and only 10 min
walk from the competition area. next morning after a
nice breakfast we went out for our first session and it
was good on 9m2 but it turned onshore and got
less.
today we went upwind with a buggy to make a
downwinder and I toke a 11m2 with me but we came there
and there was almost no wind. so I looped my way back
downwind. and chilled a bit till the wind picked up a
bit and tried it on a 15m2 but wasn´t enouf and I
cancled the day. we´re now waiting for the
registration!

day
3: I woke up and chilled a bit fixxed some things on
my harnes and went out kiting with my 13m2. it was a
little bit underpowerd but it was fun. my hands where
not yet healed so it hurted a bit in the salt water. We
made a downwinder to the laguna and that was sick! after
a hour at the laguna the wind dropped and I went to
shore to wait for the ride home! when I came home we
grabbed some food and went to sleep.
day
4: same thing was going on still not that much wind
so we went downwind to the laguna and chilled there
waited till the ride home. at night we had some food. we
chilled in Aarons room and had some drinks to much!
there was a best party going on that night and we wanted
to go there but I was to tiered and went to
sleep.
day 5: I woke up and heard what was
going on at the best party and what I forgot and stuff.
Aaron made a nice movie on his phone and when I saw it
back I was just rolling on the floor laughing! after
that we just went kiting like we do every
day!
day 6: woke up had a super nice breakfast
at our pousada and went kiting. down wind to the laguna
with some massive kickers (waves) coming in! half way
down the wind picked up and we where over powerd on 9m2.
we came at the laguna and chilled there, but it was a
holiday here. so it was super crowded. so we went of the
water and waited a bit and the people went away. but
also the wind dropped a lot.
day 7: we just
got out of bed and the wind was already blowing. were
just waiting so it is going to be a bit
stadier....

Day
1: we woke up at 5am becouse we had jetlag. but the
wind isn´t nice befor 10am so we had to wait for a
while. I put together my board and went to check out
aarons place and its pimping played some guitar and had
breakfast. the wind picked up and we made a downwinder
to the laguna with a 7m but the wind dropped a bit half
way so where sitting, waiting wishing for some wind. but
it didn´t came so we went home on this pickup truck. we
where loaded with 12 people and gear. so on every bump
we almost fell of. but we made it safe and went to grap
some snacks. I was so tiered so I went to bed really
early!
day 2: I woke up at 7:30 so that was
ok. had breakfast and checked out the beach. I pumped my
11m2 but I had huge blisters on my hand of working the
kite so much the day before. I couldn´t do nothing so i
just went down to the laguna and chilled there. tomorrow
i´m going to take some pics and film a bit so my hands
can heal! well this is it for today talk to you guys

When
I came on the airport we had a delay of 2,5 hours. so we
had to wait like a long time. at the check in I had only
22kg so that was cool and than the girl said: im going
to give you 1 kg to pay. so it was ok. and where I had
to pay I said im not going to pay for 1kg so she let me
of free. it was also like 30 euros a kg. well when we
arrived at the airport in fortaleza we had a ride to
combuco so that was cool. im staying at a place that is
like 1 min walk from the beach it cool. but its starting
to get windy so im going to go kiting check you people
laters

People
the Dutch championships is done. My first heat went
good, till I went for a slimchange over a wave and over
rotated him and crashed super hard. So I had a headache.
It was hurting but I went on. and won the heat after
aswell. in my 3rd heat my head hurted so much that I
couldn't land anything and lost the heat. When I came
from the water my dad said that I look a bit white so I
went to my car and changed. I felted a bit sick. and I
had a light concussion so I didn't do the doubles and
went home to lay down. when I got up I felt a bit better
already and chilled the rest of the day. while the
doubles where going on I was sitting home with a
bounching head. I ended up 9th.
today there was
no wind. so we did some intervieuws for newspaper and
tv.

The
last day of the PKRA was there and we had still a double
to go, where I was in the second heat. Skippers meeting
was at 9am and before that I was all pumped up and ready
to go, but there was only one problem...the wind...so we
had to wait. Like 10 min later it was picking up so I
went out on my 13m2 and race director Olaf van Tol gave
us a green flag. The minute he did the wind dropped
again and the 1st heat was abended. so my heat was up
next. After waiting a bit the wind seemed to got
stronger. They started my heat and the wind died again.
we had to do this 3 times. and than the wind became a
bit stadier. so we could make it to the first few
rounds. I won my first heat. and lost my second heat,
becouse I couldn't do much. after a few round the wind
picked up for 11m2, but that was only for a few minutes
and after that they canceled the doubles and Ruben was
officiel the winner of the PKRA Sardinia with Aaron 2nd
and Kevin 3rd.
after the PKRA everybody left, but
my flight was not untill the 5th. So I went east with
the caribbean wind guys and Ania. They dropped us of in
porto polo. where we stayed for 1 night. That morning we
wanted to go kiting, but there was no wind. So we just
went to the beach and we found Jo Ciastula there who had
a photoshoot with Gaastra. and we could stay the last
night at there place and they could give us a ride to
the airport. thank guys!!

Yesterday
and today there is no wind. but the wind of earlier
brouth some nice waves with them. so we are amusing
ourselfs with some nice wavesurfing, interneting and
relaxing. Not much else to do with no wind so thats a
peg, but were making fun out here so thats
ok.
last night we had a sick party going on. We
went there with a shuttle and we wheren't even out of
the bus or we already wanted to go home. but the shuttle
didn't leave before 12pm, so we just checking the party
out and it sucked big time. there where playing
SlingShotvideo from 2 years ago. finnaly it was 12pm and
we went to the bus, but we still had to wait for an
other 30 min. so that was a peg.
tomorrow they
expact wind so thats gonna be nice and hope its gonna be
enouf for at least 13m2, becouse on 15m2 i'm not able to
do much.

yo
peeps I made it. i'm in the main event. yesterday we had
the trails, but there was almost no wind. we had 2 ride
with 15m2 and still run up the beach. but I made it and
as for all the other dutchies. 9 dutchies in the main
event sweet!! .
today
there was no wind so we did some kind of wakeboard comp.
but i didn't joined just went with some dutchies
searching for some cliffs to jump of that was like 2
hours of fun. we laught till mr. S van den berg stood in
a sea thing so that was a bit fucked up, but short after
that we started laughing again! Jo and me played some
tennis we did doubles against Mauritio and Bruna and
guess who won!! us!! now I'm just chillin
and waiting for the day to go by.

Back
home from Greece and i love it. We landed on Dusseldorf
so we had a 3-4 hour drive ahead of us. First we went to
see a friend because it is his birthday today. then we
got home toke a shower and went eating with a friend.
While eating we saw the flags going of and after no wind
in Greece we went kiting for an evening session. pomped
up our 11m2 and went out. The current was strong so we
made a downwinder to the next town without knowing how
were gonna get back. at 22:30 we came from the water
because it was getting a bit dark. We asked some locals
there if they could take us and yes please we had a ride
home!! Thnx for that.

Still no wind here in
this beutiful Greece... so we've seen the island now so
we're starting to get a bit borred here. They don't give
wind for tomorrow aswell. Sunday there might be some
wind, else no result for anybody.

It's
nice and warm here in Paros greece, but only 1 thing
missing...WIND! We rented a Scooter yesterday and drove
around on the road to the beach and go explore the
Island. We went to dinner in Anti-Paros that's an Island
across so you have to take a 2 min. ferry ride. Came
back and went to bed.
Today the wind seemed to
pickup hole day. Everybody pumped up his kites, But it
didn't blow so they rode for like 10 min. When every1
packed up his kite again they cancled for
today.
The wind is not looking good for the rest
of the competition time. So I hope the wind-gods will
give us some wind.

When
the boat was there it was raining like hell. The boat
ride toke us like 3 hours and when we arrived at Paros
it was still raining our asses off. We went for a taxi,
but there were no taxi's taking us because our boardbagg
was too big and too wet. Luckely Leeshai arranged a
pick-up truck and because he did it he got to sit in
front, but there was only 1 place inside. So Ruben ,
Aaron and me had to sit in the back with the wet gear
and it was still raining. We had to drive for like 10
min. and believe me we where soked. When we got there it
stopped raining and leeshai could get out dry . We sad hi
to everybody had some food and went to bed.
On
the registration day there was no wind and we wanted to
rent a motorbike, but we needed a driverslicense because
we were in europe again. Ruben had to paste his redbull
stickers in his kite and we did that. it toke us the
whole f*cking day. We had a openings cerimonie and the
premier of Unhooked 2 that was sick.
Today there
was wind and we did the trails. all the Dutchies are in
the main event. so that's Youri Zoon, Roy Zoon, Kevin
Langeree, Ruben Lenten and me. We were stoked that we
could kite today and progessed in the event. I have to
compete against Daniel Anderson. I hope there is some
nice wind tomorrow. speek to ya later.

a drive from Holland to Dusseldorf... we finally made it
to greece... the plane was facking full and we didn't
had that much sleep last night. so we were pritty fucked
up in the plane.

The
last day of the PKRA was a day with not to good wind.
The competition area was moved to a better place:
Kitepark. But to bad we were underpowerd on 13m2. When
the dubbel elimination started was the wind a bit to
lite and the heat before mine was cancled. waited 5min
and did a rerun. I had to go against M. Blomvall and
lost. there was also a best board-off, kiteloop and HP.
After the closing ceremony was there no wind any more so
thats sucks. I got pritty borred and was glad that i
could go home.

After

touchdown at like 10 o'clock local time. and we toke a
taxi to the harbor where hour 3 hour boat trip is
kicking off at 16:30 so thats cock.

Today
I woke up at 9 o'clock and had the morning sessions. you
know shower breakfast and some relaxing with music. Than
I toke a motoconio to the beach where the competition
was. and pumped up my kites. It looked realy good and it
became realy good I was in the 6th heat against A.
Jaubert and had the heat of my life. I landed
everything. The heats where still 5/2 so it went realy
quick. I passed to the next heat and came against Cesar
Portas and lost. The final was between Aaron and
Etienne. Aaron won the first elimination. They started
the dubble but after the firt round the rain came and
toke our wind. So we had to call it a day. Tomorrow they
take the competition to kitebeach. Where the dubble is
going on and if there is time they wanna do a best
trick.

Yesterday
the wind was a bit on sure so we had to stay close to
the competition aeria. At 1 time the wind picked up and
we all stressed and pumped up our kites for the trails.
The judges wanted to go and there was the 1 heat going
of. I was in the 5th heat and still pumping. They
shortend the heats to 5/2 (thats 5min. heat and 2 min.
transision time) so I had to go and hurry up. When I was
ready and the first heat was done. it was raining like a
mofo and the rain killed the wind so no
trails.
this morning I woke up at 9 and had a
shower and relaxed some listenned to some music. 10:30
skippers meating. I was all pumped up and ready to
start. We didn't had to wait that long for the wind and
started the trails all over again. I was up against 2
local guys and i was out on my 13m2. Came 1st in my heat
so that means I go straight to the 3rd round. I had a
nice resting periode. I was up and toke out my 11m2 it
was lite but doable. The green flag was down so the heat
was almost over, when they cancled my heat (because of
the wind). We had a 5 min break and I grabbed my 13m2
this time. Went out did some nice trickes and got treu
to the main event . The Dutchies in
the main event are:

The
registration is over and the heats are made. where gonna
do a dingle for the trails.
Today is no wind so
we all went to Susis room to chill and do some i-net and
PS1 (Tekken3
). now i'm of to the beach to check what is going
on.

We
had some none wind day's filled up with funny things
like paintball and partying and relaxing, but from now
on it's gonna be a focused way to the PKRA. there's
gonna be lots of wind so thats good for a few more days
of trainging.
2day there were super good
conditions for your 9 later on even for 7. I had a
really good session 2day landed almost everything. After
a session from like 3 hours i was dead and quited. There
was a photoshoot from redbull in El Quentro so I went
there with ruben on his motor. I know for sure 2night is
gonna be a easy night for me, I think.

we woke up and there
was no wind. so we went with a few people renting a
motor, quad and a buggy. We were riding almost all day
in rivers and moddy shit and it started to rain so crazy
that we were wet in a sec. so we had to find a nice
place to take a shelter. and then we fucked up the
starting motor of the quad and we drove full into some
nice deep pool of water on the road. We even tripped
over the buggy. we went back home after and had some
food and went to play pool at extreme and went to
bed.
hope today the wind is gonna be better but
it doesn't look any good

i've
been here for over a week now and hell i like it till
now on. had some very nice kiting sessions over here.
But the next week doesn't look to good for the wind. so
i'll be doing some other shit then only
kiting.
and ofcourse you'll get all the

And
if tomorrow was better. I kited whole day and it was
fucking clean conditions for my 9m2. The day after i
went with Brunotti to Las Terrenas for a 2days fotoshoot
for the new collection. fuck and the new clothes are
fucking cool. didn't kite there to much but we had a
nice spearfishing sessions. The big fish are to smart so
we only shoot little fish, but it was fun. After we had
a nice BBQ and went to sleep.
next morning we
were up at 6 for a spearfish session and some photos.
then we had a 3 hour drive back to cabarete. and had a
not to perfect kite session on my 9m2, but it's warm so
no complains.

After
I went Delta-flying with my mom, she dropped me of at
the airport in Dusseldorf, but that was like 15 before
my flight was taking off. So i had to spend a night on
the airport. finnaly the time was there to go in the
air, but ofcourse 1 hour delay. I was so tierd that i
slept most of the time in the plane (what normally is
not possible for me). half way my battery of my i-pod
went down, so that was a big peg. so after a hectick
flight I finnaly arrived in Puerto Plata. Ruben was
picking me up but he didn't know when my plane tough
downed, so we missed each other. Luckely a guy from
extreme hotel was the to pick up some other dudes and i
could drive with him. the wind was nice side shore and
30+ so i went for a session on my 7m2. After my session
we had dinner and a small party where Jo and I left
early, but then Susi, Maaike and Ruben came to kick our
as out or our bed and we partyed on till 2/3 o'clock and
went to bed.
Next day we had a nice breakfast and
a bad kitesession becouse my jetlag kicked in. so for my
it's early to bed tonight. and hopefully tomorrow is
better.

over Holland |
We
went with a nice Flexifoil campervan to do a tour in
holland. With a few nice riders like: Aaron Hadlow,
Bjorn Vianne and myself . Not all the
fotage where restored after the breakin in our
campervan. but it's stil a nice movie with the material
we stil had left. so go and see this nice
movie.

The
last day they made us come out of our beds at 6:30 for
an 7:00 skippers meeting, because we didn`t had wind for
the whole week so they wanted to start ASAP.
When
the trails where started I was in the 3rd heat against 3
other people Where 2 were advancing to the main event.
We only got 1 change to come in the main.
So my
heat was up. The horn blew and I started out big with a
nice slim and a redical backloop kiteloop. i didn`t pay
much attention to the other riders so didn`t know what
to expact. After my heat i came to shore and checked the
notice board. I got 1e in the heat, so advanced into the
mainevent. Where after the drawing I had to compete
against Michael Blomvall. In that heat I
lost.

Still
no wind in Austria, but the parties are pretty good.
Today we had a competition on the trampolines. And even
in this Aaron and Ruben were the greatest. Aaron won
from Ruben doing a doubel handelpass and a
wappo-handelpass. We all look forward to have some wind,
but the forcast says it's gonna be warm and no
wind.

After
a very long drive we made it to podersdorf. The camper
was going 60km/ph up hill and 120km/ph down hill. So
down hill we passed all the truckers and up hill they
all passed us again. The night of the registration we
saw everybody again and the kick off party was cool
too.
first day of the competition. After the
riders meeting I pumpt up my kite because i am in the
3rd heat against 3 other riders and 2 advance to the
main event. but today we din't had that much luck with
the wind and the forcast doesn't look verry
good.

Dikke
top de temp. gaat om hoog en we can kick ass again . Vandaag en
gister heerlijk weer voor het eerst in t nieuwe jaar
gevaren in nwijk .
Het was
gelukkig niet zo heel koud, maar je moest niet gespoelt
worden, want dan bekomde je die brainfreezz wel en haaien naar je
board was ook niet egt een aanrader
trouwens.

hele week gaat t lekker waaien en de temp. schiet omhoog
wat een dikke top . Als t water nou
ffies lekker opwarmt kunnen we tenminste weer zonder
schoentjes varen... verheug me er nu al weer
op.
morgen word duzz ook een hele bruute sessie.

vrijdag
begon het dan eindelijk! Me rijopleiding. ik moest daar
om 8uur zijn en moest dus te vroeg de trein hebben, maar
me pa kwam langs t station toen die naar ze werk moest
en kon ik dus mee rijden. scheelde mij weer een fiets
rit. nou bij het kantoor van de rijopleiding gekomen
begon het met eerst 6 uur op de simulator en daarna nog
even 2 uur de openbare weg op . Ik had me zelf
lekker naar station haarlem geboekt (scheelde mij weer
doekoes). ben na de rijles gelijk door gegaan naar den
haag om het casino in te duiken. was egt vet lache
ervaring man. daarna zijn we nog gaan stappuh in den
haag, maar de mensen waren daar egt geen flikker aan
allemaal kouwe kak daaro, maar ondanks dat toch helemaal
uit onze krentebol gegaan.
zaterdag middag wakker
geworden ontbeten beetje gechilled. nog even langs
brunotti gehobbelt. avond gegeten en de bus terug
genomen naar Noordwijk om weer te gaan stappen. taxi
terug naar huis genomen en kei en kei hard in slaap
gevallen.
zondag was voor de rest niet onwijs
boeiend, maar we hebben wel ffies lekker een uurtje
gebowled en t ging egt lekker .

maandag
ochtend. ik had vrijdag met de rijintructeur afgesproken
om op haarlem cs opgepikt teworden om 8 uur. nou vandaag
moest ik eerst 4 uur openbaren weg rijden dikke top . Stuk snelweg
mee gepikt en brok amsterdam, was lachen. toen ik 4 uur
had gereden (met 2 pauzes er tussen) was het mijn beurt
om op de simulator te gaan boeken.

De
volgende ochtend zijn we chill tot 12 uur op bed blijven
liggen. Toen we eindelijk een beetje wakker waren gingen
we brood halen en het dakterras bekijken en het woei
gewoon weer. We waren aan het twijfelen of we voor ons
appartement zouden gaan kiten of in de laguna. We hebben
besloten om met Jo en zijn pa naar de laguna te rijden
om daar een lekkere sessie met onze 9m te bekommen.
Nadat we alles hadden opgepompt en klaar gemaakt doken
we de laguna in wat een beetje tegen viel qua kou. We
waren nog geen 5 min. Aan het varen of de wind begint op
te raken. Het werd vlagerig. De slechte wind condities
en de kou waren het niet waard dus zijn we maar naar ons
huis gegaan om een paar pro-challanges te halen. Nadat
we zelfs daar aan gingen vervelen zijn we boodschappen
gaan doen. We merkte al dat de wind naar Lavante aan het
blazen was. Toen we terug kwamen zijn we gezellig weer
bij de Mexicaan op de hoek gaan eten, maar dit keer
waren we vergezeld door Jo. Ja dat was goed weg te
hakken. Lekker douche en in slaap vallen met
“supperclub” was dikke top!
We werden wakker van
het geloei van de Lavante wind! Dat was een goed teken.
Wij gingen na t ontbijt weer gezellig met zijn allen
naar Getares toe om een lekkere kitesessie eruit te
pompen. Toen we terug kwamen van Getares gingen we de
net gekochte (kankerklare) puree maken met een lekker
hamkaas ding. Na het eten nog even wat van de movie in
elkaar geklust en daarna lekker gaan
slapen.
|
Toen we wakker werden
dachten we chill laatste daggie lekker varen, maar
helaas iemand had de wind uit gezet. We hebben ons dus
nog even omgedraaid. Toen we eindelijk ons nest uit
meurden zijn we maar chill gaan douche en gaan i-netten.
We moesten als we wouden i-netten eerst langs de bakker
om een chocolade broodje on the go te halen. Terug
gekomen bij het appartement hebben we op ons gemak de
boardbags onwijs slim ingepakt. Daarna kleren op ons
dooie gemak inpakken. We zijn toen we klaar waren met
inpakken met de 2 eerder genoemde logees gezel ffies
naar t strand geweest om daar mans te gaan zitten. Omdat
het de laatste avond was zouden we gezel met zen allen
wat gaan eten. Wij dachten hoppa mexicaan op de hoek
lekker dichtbij! Dat vonden de anderen gelukkig ook een
goed idee, maar daar aangekomen wastie gewoon gesloten.
Wij met zen allen naar een andere mexicaan gereden, maar
die was natuurlijk ook dicht! Toen dachten we chill
surfbarretje, dus wij de auto ergens gedropt. Lopen we
op de weg naar t surfbarretje een te lekker ruikende
pizzaria voorbij. Onze magen trokken ons naar binnen en
we hebben daar te lekker gegeten. Aan het eind van de
avond zouden we bij ons nog even wat gaan eten, maar
iedereen was helemaal verrot en we zijn maar gaan
slapen.
De wekker maakte ons om 7 uur wakker,
want om 8 uur stond Pollo onze personal taxi voor de
deur. Ik de wekker op snooze stand geklapt. Om
vervolgens 10 min later wakker te worden. Alarm uit
gezet en toch nog heel even blijven liggen. Maar 8 min
later dachten we we gaan er toch maar uit want anders
missen we de plane. Wij eruit en rustig aangekleed. Net
klaar en ja hoor !KLOP! !KLOP! daar stond Pollo keurig
op tijd voor de deur. Bij de incheck balie aangekomen
bleken we 30 kg overbagage te hebben, maar omdat we zo
zielig keken ging er 10 kg af. Die we even verderop
moesten betalen. We hadden nog maar €50 en de overbagage
was €100. Dus zeggen we stuur maar een rekening naar
huis dan betalen we t later, maar dat kon niet want t
systeem werkte niet zo. Wij in dikke stress en nog wat
proberen te pinnen, maar te vergeefs. Papa gebeld, die
kon ook nix doen want die was aan t werk. Toen dachten
we GVD en nu. Een creditcard nr. en pas nr. zou ook goed
zijn dus Ruben Brunotti Board gebeld en gevraagd om een
creditcard nr. en pas nr. en gekregen. Met nog 3 min
voor het sluiten van de incheck balie. Zeg die muts
achter de balie: “ja, sorry maar ik moet ook de datums
die op de pas staan hebben”. Ruben weer bellen en snel
dat nr. gegeven. Nog net op tijd bij de incheck balie.
Door de securety heen en nog ffies chill een broodje en
wat drinken gekocht, want we hadden nog niet gegeten.
Komen we daar egt als aller aller laatste dat vliegtuig
in. We zitten nog geen 5 min of het vliegtuig begint al
relax in beweging te komen en steeg op.

Gister
toen we opstonden zag de wind er veel belovend uit. hij
was noordelijk dus gingen we naar de laguna. Daar
aangekomen zag het er lekker maar koud uit. We hebben
onze 9m opgepompt en zijn het water opgegaan. We hadden
best lol voor ongeveer 5 sec. De wind liet ons weer is
in de steek. Het was te koud om lekker te klote dus zijn
we maar naar huis gegaan om een pro challenge
(TonyHawksProSkater4) te halen. Toen we dat zat waren
zijn we na ons helemaal fatsig gegeten te hebben maar
weer ffies t i-net opgegaan. Ik wou toen al wat
achterlaten maar ik ging helemaal OUT aan het
toetsenbord, dus dan nu maar... Na de i-net sessie
hebben we wat kip gehakt in het surf barretje (Laca
Laco) was goed te hachelen. Thuis hebben we ffies de
tapes op de computer gehakt en zijn lekker gaan
slapen.

vanochtend
rende we naar t dakterras waar we uitkijken over zee om
te kijken of het woei, maar helaas t word weer een
windloze dag, maar het is nu ook maar iets van 5 graden
. Toen
we terug kwamen van de inet sessie en het dakterras op
gingen zagen we daar tot onze grote verbazing de eerste
witte kopjes. We hebben nog een uur gewacht en zijn
daarna lekker gaan kiten. Ik had eerst 13m gepompt en
gevaren maar dat was al snel te veel en ben naar de kant
gegaan om Jo strike2 9m te misbruiken. Na 1,5 uur begon
het gevoel uit mijn voeten te trekken door die te kouden
noorden wind. Ik ben lekker naar de kant gegaan om een
te lekkere warme douche te nemen. Toen mijn lichaam weer
een beetje op temp. was ben ik me kites op gaan ruimen.
We hebben lekker gegeten bij de mexicaan op de hoek.
Toen we klaar waren met schaften zijn we lekker onze
bunker in gegaan.

Eindelijk hebben we
weer wind... gister hebben we hem op Dos Marres geboekt.
Met 13m2 en 20 meter lijnen lekker gepowerd! Ik had
gister egt te veel lol op het water en boekte die
roastbeaf, unhooked tabletops en deadmans of t nix
koste... ik heb ook de powerd slimchance en frontmobe,
downloop s-bend en s-bend downloop lekker onder de knie.
En ik heb met de NIEUW STRIKE2 gevaren en wat had ik na
die sessie onwijze behoefte om te masteren. die kite,
dat design, dat gevoel egt onbeschrijfbaar. Ik hoeft
niet een te wennen. Ik en de vlieger waren gewoon 1!!
Tot dat Jo hem weer uit me handen trok voor de
downwinder.
De downwinder bekomde we van Dos
Marres --> Tarifa. Halverwege zijn we nog even
gestopt in de laguna van Tarifa en daar was een
cameragraaf bezig, dus gingen we voor hem leuke sprongen
maken!

Yo gister hadden we
dan eindelijk wind, maar hoe... het was met 13 zwaar
underpowerd. Later nam t iets toe maar we moesten wel
iedere X hoogte lopen. Ik heb nog even wat nieuwe
dingetjes geprobeerd (kiteloop slimchance, kiteloop
backloop surfacehp) maar het woei een beetje heel
zacht.
We hadden nog een intervieuw met het blad
"Tarifa" (local mag)hier.
Gister avond was relaxe
feestavond, maar om 3 uur zouden we naar "La rif" (een
vette disco) gaan maar dat trokken we niet meer. We
waren te moe en zijn maar gaan tukken.
Vandaag
werden we beetje laat wakker en hebben gelijk een
ontbijtje geboekt. geen wind vandaag duzz word weer een
relax dag! greetz Sander

Eergister
avond hebben we met de local friend een pizza geknipt of
t nix koste. we hebben daar met ze 5e gegeten tot we
knapte en waren 22 pleuros kwijt.
Tarifa rocked
de spot vandaag en gister even niet! Gister en vandaag
hadden we geen wind omdat de wind aan het draaien is van
Poniente naar Levante.
Gister hebben we de
verhuizing bekommen van het Hostol waar we de eerste
dagen zaten naar een chill appartement die goed is
gelocaled. Na de verhuizing hebben we het internet
bekommen om de movie van R.LEN10 erop te klappen. Daarna
werden we op gehaalt om te gaan golfsurfen met onze
local friends in Punto Preta, maar daar aangekomen
kwamen er setten binnen van cker 1 soms 2 feet (30/60cm)
dus dat werd nix. We zijn weer terug gereden naar Tarifa
om het surfbarretje te bekommen. Na het surfbarretje
hebben we DVD (you got served) gehuurt en bekeken met 2
chicas. Aan het eind van de film eindigde we met 2
logees
!!
Vandaag hebben we lekker de uitslaap sessie
genoten. Het kwik boekte vandaag tot een overheerlijke
22 graden cecius en het windte. We zijn gaan rijden naar
Valdevalqeuros, maar daar was hij beetje heel erg
vlagerig. We besloten om verder te rijden naar Boloño,
maar daar was de wind helemaal bagger. Toch maar terug
gegaan naar Valdevalqeuros, maar daar had net 1 of
andere ego tu puta de wind uitgezet. Wij daar dan maar
een beetje gechilled in de zon. Totdat we het zat waren
dat geverveel. Zijn we terug gereden naar Tarifa om daar
verder nix tot weinig te doen.

de hoogte van de bezigheden waar hunnie zich mee bezig
houden!

Yoyo
ben ik weer voor de mensen thuis een updatetje. Goed
gister zouden we naar een relaxde spot gaan om te filmen
maar daar aan gekomen zag ik de pijn in Rubens ogen de
pijn die ze hem aan deden met het varen met 16 meters,
dus zijn we maar terug gereden naar Gateres. ik had
alleen me 9 en 7 bij me en het was weer voor wat
groters, dus ik heb besloten om dan maar wat nuttigs te
doen en heb Ruubsie een beetje gefilmt. s´Avonds heeft
Ruben even snel het filmpje in elkaar geboekt en hier
issie dan.
we gaan nu even genieten van een
overheerlijk ontbijt en ik hou jullie op de
hoogte!!

tjsingeling, Ruben en ik zijn weer (voor mij) in
Tarifa.
Een uur voordat we naar het vliegveld
moesten dacht Ruben laat ik mijn boardbag maar eens
inpakken. Ruim optijd toch. daarna ging hij naar boven
om ze kleren te pakken en ik zat beneden te wachten
beetje tv kijken, kom ik boven zit hij gewoon zijn i-net
te chekken maargoed...
Wij op 16hoven afgezet bij
de kis and go zone gelukkig was er geen file. dus wij
naar binnen vraagt de grond stuwardess wat zit er in die
grote tassen dus ik zeg kitespullen. ze stond me aan te
kijken van WTF. maar de boardbags werden gewogen en we
zaten netjes over het gewicht heen, ondanks dat ruben
zijn boardbag er maar voor de helft op had
liggen...
Aangekomen in Malaga na een 3 uur
duurende THPS4 sessie werden we opgehaalt door Christian
en Pollo. We boekte hem eerst naar Chris zijn huis om
ffies wat te drinken en zijn kitespullen te pakken.
daarna bekomde we die rit naar Tarifa. eenmaal
aangekomen zijn we naar een Hostol gegaan om de zooi te
dumpen te douche en beetje te chille. aan die taak
hadden we ons voldaan en toen zijn we te lekker gaan
eten in het surfbarretje (laca laco). Het was zaterdag
en wat bij elke zaterdag hoort is partyen ofcourse. We
bekomde die party sessie of t nix koste en gingen op
5:30 maar is tukken.
Vandaag werd ik wakker
gebeld om 12 uur door Jo. we werden opgehaald en gingen
de kitesessie op Caños de mecca bekommen met de 9m maar
dat was 2 mucho.
ik ga zeggen: mimimi Massol want
we gaan die eet sessie bekommen

yo ik ben nog maar net
terug en ik boek hem gewoon zaterdag weer lekker
Tarifa.
Ik heb daar een top tijd gehad met cees van
oosterum maar nu boek ik hem weer terug met Ruubsie dus
de gebroeders LEN10 rocken de spot in Tarifa.
We
gaan die tarifa hak sessie bekommen van zaterdag de
15jan tot donderdag 3feb.

Ik heb Tarifa alvast
voorbereid voor Ruben zijn komst en dat komt helemaal
goed

tsjingeling, wat is t hier top zeg niet normaal, alleen
jammer dat t einde al in zicht is.
We hebben al
weer heel wat kite sessies bekommen het weer is helemaal
top hier, lekker elke dag boven de 15 graden. We
bekommen die kitesessie in Tarifa als het Poniente was
en met Levante zijn we 1 keer in Valdevaqueros 1keer in
Las Dunas geweest en 2 keer in Gatares. en wat een top
sessie waren dat.
Vandaag is er hier in Spanje
"paseo de reyes" (de drie koningen) en dat is voor hun
kerst vandaag bekommen we die party ook dan of het
helemaal nix kost. We hebben vandaag ook gefilmt en op
strand gesprongen en wat foto´s gemaakt. Hier is er
alvast 1. Als ik thuis ben boek ik de rest van de foto´s
in de gallery. (ik zou wel wat meer foto´s er alvast op
willen zetten maar vincent is vergeten zijn kabeltje mee
te geven, dus die houden jullie te goed)
We gaan
nu lekker die party bekommen mimimimassol en spreek

Yoyo, we zijn na een
hele lange en vermoeide reis eindelijk aangekomen in
Tarifa.
We reden Zaterdag 1e kerstdag weg bij
Cees thuis. Het schoot wel lekker op met 140 in een te
chille Laguna. we waren om 16:00 bij Bordeau en gingen
om 20:00 wat eten in san Sebastian ´t lekte als een mofo
in die tent maar t eten was lekkerder dan de vrouwen
daar achter de bar. Na het eten bekomde ik de achterbank
sessie en heb wat dvd´s gekeken. rond een uur of 9 begon
t te sneeuwen en hebben we een hoteletje geboekt. de
volgende ochtend werden we wakker en moesten we gewoon
keihard de auto uitgraven!! wat verw8 je allemaal als je
naar Spanje gaat voor een surf vakantie, maar goed we
moesten zo´n 120 km 40/50 kmph rijden omdat het te glad
was en we hadden ofcource geen sneeuw kettingen bij ons.
200 km voor madrid werd de weg weer schoon en boekte we
hem weer 140 . We kwamen
aan in Tarifa rond een uur of half 9 en gingen de auto
leeg halen en wat eten.
vandaag hebben we een
kite sessie bekommen maar het was niet alles, omdat de
condities slecht waren.
maar ik ga jullie weer
spreken want we gaan ff shoppen
